we stayed 4 nights/5 days at Newport bay club and had a really good time.
We stayed elsewhere in France for the first 11 nights (berny riviere campsite) so we managed to get to Disney nice and early on the first day so we had 4 full days plus a few hours on the last day to enjoy the parks.
I will do a trip report but here's a few thoughts
Newport bay was lovely. i was very impressed with the room size and the cleanliness etc. it certainly had a disney feel to it. My only gripes were the overcrowded restaurants at breakfast and the public areas of the hotel were extremely hot and uncomfortable.
We suffered a little because of the strikes but nothing major. We managed to do all the rides we wanted to do several times. We didn't do the major rides this time as we just didn't feel like riding alone TBH (we have 2 young kids so have to take it in turns) and we decided to concentrate on giving the kids a good time. Kids faves were Buzz, casey junior, tarzan encounter and animagique, we loved these as well as cinemagique and armegeddon.
Crowd levels on saturday and Sunday were huge. 90 mins plus wait for rides and fastpasses gone by lunchtime and wall to wall people. I presume this is maybe as peopl had put of visiting the previous weekend due to the strikes or maybe something to do with free passes given out to people because of the strike action. Luckily though we had the thursday, friday and monday to do everything we needed to do. We also got fireworks on the saturday night which was a nice surprise as we had gone not expecting them.
CM's were generally okay. A few who were completely miserable but on the whole they were friendly and chatty. Character meetings are still badly organised and the smoking issue is a pain.
All in all though the kids had a good time and it was a nice bit of magic seeings we couldn't afford WDW this year. We are going back to berny riviere in may next year nad we are unsure what to do about DLP. We may just do it as a day trip or we might just stay one night at a hotel and have 2 days there, but i don't think i would go for longer than a couple of days again.
