Hi,
Just thought I'd post about our recent trip to Disney in case it might help someone planning upcoming trips. It was our first time (myself, husband and 2 daughters aged 3&4)
Travel over was quick and used Ezyshuttle for a problem free transfer from airport to Hotel New York. Arrived at 7pm and was able to checkin without a queue and book at table at the restaurant for 7.30. Room was nice, meal was ok - husband really enjoyed the fish, and my girls ate no problem. Breakfast was nice and no queues or anything. Don't think we went during our time slot at all during our stay but it wasn't a problem. Characters were there for photos and autographs on our way to breakfast, with short queues especially earlier in the morning.
Went to the park on our first evening for a walk about. Got a pink pass from the office as I was 24weeks pregnant which let us straight onto a few of the gentle rides around the park and the train.
Torrential rain on our first full day was pretty miserable but we used this time to go to the Studios and watch the shows. Second and third day we did the rides around the park - overcast with showers which we didn't mind as it meant it wasn't too hot for us.
We really enjoyed the parades, especially fantillusion. Face painting was good too. We ate at HNY which was fine, The Steakhouse which was fine, Walts which was really nice and Cafe Mickey which we all enjoyed. Also Bella Notte, which was quite well priced (in dlp terms) and the trailer diner at the studios which I would avoid, very overpriced and not terribly nice. We were just desperate to get in from the rain.
Overall a good stay - my girls didn't want to come home. 5 days Mon-Fri was plenty for us parents though. Happy with Hotel New York - no complaints except that there was no shallow area in the pool (there was a tiny kids pool which seemed more of an afterthought). We are now skint. Very expensive holiday but one that my girls will never forget.
PS Don't get the half board vouchers. Not good value and too tying as you only get a set menu at the restaurants.
