We just got back from DL/DCA this afternoon and I don't have time for a full trip report because we're heading out for another trip. But here's some random observations from our trip...
1) I have mouse ears, but have no idea where they are! Also, forgot to pack the kids'. Where's my mouse-ears???? Would you wear your mouse ears anywhere besides in the parks? Like just any old trip to the grocery store, flying on an airplane, etc? DH says no way. I think it'd be fun!
2) The parks seemed very crowded, but the lines for the rides were very short (Nemo excluded of course).
3) I will never stand in line more than 10 minutes to ride Nemo again. I unfortunately observed that due to the confined space of the ride, you are unable to escape any unpleasant odors.
4) We started pin collecting/trading on this trip. The kids are now 9 & 5 so it was a good time. Having to re-purchase a lost pin you bought earlier in the day makes it pretty expensive and rather annoying.
5) Still love Dole Whip.
6) We prefer to stay at a hotel within walking distance of DL. We were at the Sheraton Anaheim this time and didn't like the dependence on the shuttle.
7) Found the "hidden" bathroom and I am pretty sure it had the heat on inside - it was like a sauna! But I did find my new favorite restroom - just off the Bazaar by the Tiki Room. Shhhh! Don't tell anyone!
8) Everything is Tink & Princess now! At least I found 1 Jiminy pin. I was looking for a Tiki room pin and couldn't find any.
Bring back Minnie, Pluto and Donald for garsh-sakes!
9) Wearing the Lego Star Wars shirt definitely helped DS get "chosen" for Jedi Training. I'm such an idiot, though. We had never seen it before, so I have no idea what happens. I take several pics of DS on stage using his light saber and thinking that's it, I put my camera away. So, here's my kid, dueling with Darth Vader, and where's my camera? In my bag.
At least DH captured it on the camcorder, but still!
10) We gave the kids a $25 Disney gift card at the beginning of the trip and told them they'd have to decide how they wanted to spend their money. It was great - they didn't ask for everything they saw! They had to think it over and make their own decision. After they'd spent their money, on the last day, we still bought them 1 more thing but it worked really well.
11) Aladdin wasn't as great as I remembered from 2005. Maybe it's just me. Or maybe this show was tainted by the family next to us who took off their shoes and put their stocking feet up on the railing.
Well, I think that's it for now.
