We just got back late Saturday night from a week in So Cal. Since everyone was so helpful in helping me plan the trip, I thought that I would share my info
. First we went to Legoland, and then we checked into the DLH on Sunday, 9/20. They were very nice and let my kids go behind the desk to help check us in. I was talking with the CM about the renovations to the hotel, etc. and she said that she wanted to upgrade us--she went in the back to check and told us that her manager told her that she could not upgrade us since we were staying for 6 nights and that was too long for the upgrade (I was happy that she tried). She gave my kids balloons and autographed pictures of their favorite characters. She had cookies and milk sent up to our room on 3 nights. She was really nice. We were in the Dreams tower overlooking the pool. We never heard noise from our "neighbors" and were very happy with the hotel.
Our first day in the park was Monday, 9/21. If you want to go to Disney when the crowds are low, this is the week to do it! Crowds were very low except for on Friday, 9/25, which was the start of the Halloween season.
My son got picked for the Jedi Training. He was so excited. He was wearing a shirt with a Gecko on it and the CM said that he choose him because he liked Geckos. He got to fight Darth Vader and it was the highlight of his trip.
My daughter did the BBB. I did the middle package (crown, I think?) and we added the pics at the end for $29. They asked if we wanted to add the pics and there was not a wait.
Our last full day was 9/25. I really wanted to see the Halloween fireworks. We had gone to Ariel's Grotto for dinner and had come back to Disneyland about 7:45 for 1 or 2 more rides and then the fireworks. Well my son (just turned 6) freaked out and would not go in the park. He did not like the way the Mickey pumpkin looked at night
So, we watched the fireworks from the end of Main St. near the railroad station. The Halloween fireworks were awesome--though some of my view was blocked by trees.
If anyone has any questions, I would be happy to answer them!
