We just got home and I thought I would write some thoughts on our stay at CSR. We were there Oct. 14 - Oct. 19 in a water view room.

Check In - There were no lines and I stepped right up to the counter. The cast member who helped me was not very helpful or friendly. As he was pulling up our reservation on the computer, I told him I had requested a room close to the main building since my DS (5) has respitory problems. I explained that having easy access to the main building for meals would help. I realize that going to WDW requires a lot of walking and so anything I can do to help make it easier for my son helps the whole family. The cast member told me "you are lucky you even have a room - we are overbooked and some people won't be so lucky". Okay - a lot of it had to do with his tone - he was very short and seemed annoyed that I would ask. When we got our room assignment, we had 4133. This is one of the buildings very far away from everything at the resort. I decided to ask the cast member nicely if since there was nothing close to the main building, was there anything closer to the pool. His response was "Look at the map, you are right by the pool. I don't know what else you want." My husband and I were stunned by his attitude since we just asked nicely. We decided to just let it go and the rest of the check in went smoothly.

The room - I love how this resort has solved some of the towel animal issues - there were towel animals in almost every window. It appeared as if they just put them there and leave them there. The room was a nice size and very clean. I was concerned about having 2 double beds (DH is 6'4"). However, the beds are extra long so we were more than comfortable. I love having the curtain that closes off part of the room by the bathroom for changing and getting ready in the morning without waking the kids right away. Each day mousekeeping was wonderful - we did get extra towel animals on a couple of days that we added to the one that was already in our window when we got there.

The Pepper Market - We had the Dining Plan so we loved going to the Pepper Market. I felt the prices were high but on the dining plan, it only counted as a counter service so it was a really good value for us. I loved all of the choices and our food was always really good. We ate there several times and I will try to post reviews for all the food on the restaurant board soon.

Overall - We felt it was a nice resort. We will probably not stay there again but it was not because we were upset with our stay. We have decided that we will switch between a value resort (we were barely in the room) or a resort that is on the monorail for convience (especially making it easier for my DS). The resort had a nice relaxed feel to it even with all of the people who were there for business. We enjoyed everything about it except for the size (would have been fine with us except my DS needs something without so much distance between everything) and the one cast member who checked us in could have been nicer (even if he couldn't give us a different room he could have been less rude to us).

Feel free to ask any questions. We had a great stay!

Wow! If you ask me, that was totally uncalled for by the CM. I'm not saying anything in the end would have been different, but he doesn't have to talk to you like that! Times like these I wish I had a tape recorder so I could play it back for their manager....... :rotfl:

I would have loved to have had a tape recorder! The thing was, my family was just so happy to be at WDW we decided to ignore his bad attitude and have a great time.

One other note about CSR - I would have never paid for a water view room again (it was the only thing left when we made the reservation). The reason was that our room's view was completely blocked by shrubs and stuff. We were not able to see the water without going outside of the room. When we went out at night though, we could see some of the fireworks from Illuminations.

Again, we had a wonderful trip because we had a wonderful attitude. Our family loves Disney and it is therapy for a family who is always dealing with medical issues.

I had a bad service issue at CSR in 2003. Normally I am not one to complain but I eneded up writting 3 or 4 letters when I got home. Final Al Wies repsonded to me.

Room was very dirty. Sgtains on the flor, dead bugs under the bed. (I was in Disney Shock!!!) and repeated requests to have it cleaned were ignored. Finaly I wanted to move rooms or speak to resort manager. CM gave me, we are booked to capacity so be you are lucky to get a room etc.

Never had a problem before and not since but kind of turned me off of CSR.

Just stayed at POP and they were spectacular.

WOW! You are a much better person than I to tolerate that kind of attitude from a check in clerk! One of the things I love about disney is the great customer service and I expect it when I vacation there. It is one of the things that makes me go back again and again! I think it is pretty common to overbook hotels - pretty much a standard in the industry. Just like airlines! So it shouldn't have been something new to the guy. Hopefully I don't encounter the same check in clerk when I stay there in Dec!

I am glad you had a wonderful vacation. I wouldn't let it ruin my whole trip either!
