This was our first stay at a moderate and all I can ay is WOW. This resort is by far the best Disney hotel we have stayed at to date. In the past we have stayed at BC, CR and BWV and will never spend the money on a deluxe again. CSR had everything the deluxes had and used but at half the cost. This hotel is just drop dead gorgeous with an amazing pool, tons of amenities and a great staff. The grounds of CSR are more beautiful than BW, BC or CR. The only difference was the absence of a balcony and it was not missed - if you can call that a balcony at the BC. Not being on the monorail or walking distance to Epcot was not missed one bit.

We stayed in Casitas 3 overlooking a fountain (paid for a standard view room) right near the quiet pool and laundry. The location was great - very near El Centro and a reasonable stroll to the Dig Site. The room was in good shape, very clean and large enough for this family of 4.

We swam, rented bikes, used the playground and ate at both the Pepper Market and Maya Grill.

All in all we can't wait to go back.

Sounds wonderful. We are planning to stay on site for this first time for our next trip. So far we are in the air about choosing CSR or CBR. I am really leaning towards CSR. It's great to hear such wonderful things about it.

We, too, love CSR and plan on returning in May. I agree that it is a beautiful resort, uncrowded, with amazing grounds.

I can't wait either!

CSR is a favorite of mine as well! Welcome back and I'm glad to hear you enjoyed your stay there!

The first time we stayed onsite, we satyed at the Poly. WE had a ball and planned another trip very quickly upon or return. There was no way I could afford a deluxe again so I booked Dixie Landings for my family of three. I was a nervous wreck imagining that my little family would just hate it and be really disappointed. Well, what a blessed relief when we checked in. They loved it. I loved it and it was half the cost. Since then we have done the Swan and, last month, we enjoyed nine days at CSR. I love the moderates and with our AP rate the last trip cost me $79 a night. I paid $247 at the Poly three years ago. This trip was one third the cost per night and it was wonderful! We will do it again.

My sentiments exactly bennie. Feels deluxe but is a fraction of the cost. :)
Bennie did you enjoy the Dig Site? I know they were refurbishing it recently. I take it the work is complete?

Shhh!! When we first started staying at CSR it was a hidden gem; now that the secret is getting out we don't have the resort all to ourselves anymore!

Even though we are venturing over to AKL in May we still had to fit in a few days at CSR to soak up the atmosphere and let the girls play in the pool.

The Dig Site was open after being closed the week before. We called almost daily ahead of time to make sure it would be open during our stay. What a relief - the pool is so important to our girls. We saw some Disney staff inspecting the tile around the edge of the pool very carefully one day.

The Dig Site was so great. Pictures did not do it justice. That temple with the waterfall is so interesting to have in the background. The waterslide is longer than I imagined and the spa was great too.

Actually none of the pictures we saw on the internet really did the hotel justice.

I totally agree with your assesments of CSR. we stayed there last june for 10 nights and really loved it. we're trying out POFQ this april and I'm really nervous about it after staying at CSR. We, too, also prefer the moderates over the deluxes as we tend to spend most of our time at the parks; don't see the need to pay 2 to 3 times the price. With AP rates, we end up staying for the price of a value $79-84 per night!
