Just back from CSR some reviews any questions

We have just decided to chage our ressie's from Pop Century to CSR and I have a few questions. I know at other mods you can request a corner room with two windows. Can you do this at CSR? Also is any section better than another? It will be me (22) and my DH (23). Thanks for your help.

We got a corner room with two windows, but we didn't make any requests when we checked in - other than get us in a room ASAP, the baby is needing a nap! :goodvibes I don't know if that is something you can request or not. It seems from all the posts here that you either prefer a section based on it being close to something like the dig site or the Pepper Market or you like a section based on the theming. For example, we liked the decor of the ranchos the best.

I know u were not there for a convention but how far was it from the convention area?

MJ

The convention area is over by the casitas. We were on the other side. Only about a 5 minute walk or so from the convention area. Cabana is definitely the most centrally located of the areas. Although, the ranchos and casitas are very pretty. They have more floors than the cabana area. CSR is absolutely awesome and a bargain for what you get, definitely a lite deluxe. My only complaint, which is minor, is the internal shuttle service.....I don't think they have worked the kinks out yet. We tried to use the internal shuttle everyday and was only successful on our last day. What happened (all the time) we would sit at the stop marked for the internal shuttle, we would wait probably 7-10 minutes or so and everytime a family would flag the shuttle down while they were walking and hopped on so by the time the shuttle got to an actually marked stop area it would be full. It happened a lot. After our second day, they actually took up all the signs for the stops (except the one in front of the pepper market) and they would just stop and ask a family if they needed a ride. When we left they still hadn't put the stop signs back up. So I'm not sure what happened with that....saying that, it definitely wouldn't have any impact on my decision to stay there again...we didn't mind walking. :Pinkbounc Oh, another note, if you want a towel animal, stay in the casita section. We walked around that section and there were towel animals in all the windows. We never got them in the cabana section. :confused3 Oh, thanks Buzz, your site was dead on about CSR! We are definitely CSR fans now!

We had a corner room, but it only had one window. I noticed some corner rooms had one, some had two. We were in the cabana section. I noticed the casita corner rooms had two windows. Absolutely make a request on your ressie. I requested the cabana section (on buzz's advice) and we got cabana 8A. It never hurts to request and I will tell you the CMs were wonderful. They really try to fill your requests! HAVE FUN! :cheer2:

Thanks for the feedback! I hope they get the kinks work out in the internal shuttle system. I think it is a great perk for guests.

Very helpful report. My 10 yo DD and I will be there next month and are sooooo looking forward to our trip.

I know a lot of people have issues with it, but for me it made the "food court" experience more relaxing. I loved that they seat you at a table and get your drinks...in other food courts, we'd search a sometimes packed room for a table, and my DH and the kids would save it while I had to run around and get the food.

I like that you pay AFTER you eat... again, because I'd usually be the one standing in the line with the tray(s) full of food while the family waited at the table...

Even getting a bagel toasted was nicer! They had this sweet older woman manning the toaster for you...

I also liked the fact that you got real table ware... not plastic!

To me, it was a nice bridge between a food court and a regular restaurant. I do agree that for meals other than breakfast, it did take a little more time for them to prepare the food for you... but I didn't mind.

I agree. We love the Pepper Market. Wet Burrito's are my favorite!

Texan Mouseketer-Glad you had a great trip! I just have a few questions. Had u ever been to CSR before? I am going for the first time in Oct and we are very excited. Was it what you expected? Did you get any towel animals? Was transportation system easy to use and was the resort overly huge or just as nice walk. We dont mind a nice walk. Sorry if its too many questions. I too am an over planner. thanks Audrey.

Depending on the time of year you go and what village you are in makes a world of difference. October is a great time of year. Hopefully you will have nice weather making the walks nice. But CSR also offers a internal shuttle system now allowing you to choose whether or not you walk. We have been to CSR 9 times and have received towel animal on half of the trips. CSR has a great transportation system. The fact that CSR is centrally located makes for quick trips to AK, MGM and Epcot.

I feel the same way about Ranchos. When I read the descriptions of the areas before I went I thought I'd like Casitas the best - but once we were actually there I fell in love with Ranchos. The landscaping in the whole resort is just beautiful - my favorite so far. We even liked the Pepper Market! - but my DD is grown so I understand why any food court would be a problem.

YEEEE HAAAA!!! FINALLY some good comments on the Ranchos!! DH and I are staying at the CSR in 2 1/2 weeks!! I will be requesting the Rancho section!! Can't wait!!

Great review. Glad you enjoyed CSR. We also had a problem with our fridge last month when we were there. They had to bring us another one but other than that everything else was perfect. We had a corner room with 2 windows too and loved it. We were right on the lake so we had a perfect view. :flower:

:earboy2: Thanks Buzz We have requested Cabanas 9A because it looked centrally located and so pretty. I saw the beautiful web site which finally seemed to get my hubby interested! We cant wait to go, hope the kids do get suprised by some towel animals! Maybe I should pack some just in case? Thanks again for the get thread. :cheer2:

Just to let you know, cabana 9a is smoking optional so you could end up with a smoking room. Just an FYI.
