Just back from CR (review) update on page 2 pics added

We tipped well also but that should not have mattered upon our arrival. Housekeeping does know when a room is going to a new guest and should clean appropriately!

I've stayed at all but 5 (soon to be 3) WDW resorts, and I've never had bad mousekeeping. Maybe it's because I tip each night.

I've had crummy mousekeeping when I tipped and superb mousekeeping when I did NOT tip. In the end, I realized it makes no sense to tip for a service you have not received yet, that you have technically paid for in full, at an establishment where it's a non-tipped salaried position. Mousekeeping should be GREAT for every guest at every resort, tip or no tip, and if not management should be notified IMMEDIATELY.

Sorry your stay was less than magical. I think that when you are paying the prices CR (and the other resorts) charge, things should be as close to perfect as humanly possible. The quality of housekeeping should not be dependent upon tipping!! and those CMs should be bending over backwards to make your stay magical. That is the Disney way!

My DH didn't get the pic of the toenail clippings but did get the puter not working and the worn area on the inside of the closet door. The Tissue in the bathroom looked as though the toliet overflowed and no one bothered cleaning it up properly. As for the computer not being free , my DH asked in person at the front desk when ours was not working (allowing access to internet) and they said they were charging for it now. We could go to any other place on their little computer system accept the internet. Luckily we had our laptop with us so we just used it. Someone mentioned a friend having problems with their safe, we also had problems with ours. It was shut when we arrived and it would not open. That was the ONLY time Maintaince showed up in mins.
As for themeing, I think that is a personal opinion and a personal matter of taste. To me , I felt like I was in an airport conconcourse downstairs but someone else might love it. It is all personal choice. Maybe because it is a convention hotel, but I just didn't feel like it was a place for families. That also is just my personal opinion, again. Actually my DH's too, he said "NEVER AGAIN, we will stay at the Poly or we won't book at Disney." Again this is just his personal opinion.

That's the same error message we received on the computer! If you had a laptop with you it probably would have worked fine, ours did.

We have always tipped mousekeeping and the CR is the only resort that we will never stay at again because of mousekeeping and the lack of response from the front desk about anything. We had a less than wonderful experience once at POR but nothing like our experience at CR.

Sorry to hear you had such a bad time. Let them know about it, they can't address the issue if they don't know about it or hear about it enough.

True. Arrival was about the only time our room looked clean. And like the OP, I also noticed (and reported on another site) that our room looked worn.

None of it detracted from the good time we had though. It was just one of those things. :upsidedow

One thing a person shouldn't have to do is clean a room that costs anywhere from $100 to $350 per night. Tipping shouldn't determine the cleanliness of the room.

Absolutely unacceptable. Shame on WDW for such poor service.

A clean room should be a given, that is why they call it a vacation.:confused3

We did have our laptop with us and we were glad we did because there was no way that in room puter was going anywhere online.

All this did not detour us from having a wonderful vacation there or at the coast following disney. It was just a disappointment for us as well as my DD who had always wanted to stay at the CR. Dirty rooms and bad service is a bummer but isn't life stopping esp. if you are at disney. I had just always expected more from Disney. Today I wrote a letter to Disney with the pictures included. I sent it to Guest Services. Is there any other dept at Disney I should send it to?
