Just back from these resorts, stayed 4 nights at CSME and 7 nights at OLCC. Here is the good and bad IMO....
CSME-- nice hotel. I had read many good things about it, and decided to book since I got a great rate of $50 a night. We were on the 7th floor, and it was equipped with a mini fridge, microwave, and included free breakfast. Overall, very clean, and the housekeeping always set up my son's stuffed animals on the bed in different poses, which he enjoyed. I would not hesitate to stay here again. Breakfast was a bit chaotic, but I expected that. The thing I didn't like was the elevators-- there are 2 and they are very small, and VERY VERY slow. Being on the top floor didn't help matters any. Also, the laundry dryer took 3 cycles to dry. I spoke to a couple of other people and they had the same problem with it. I mentioned this to the front desk, and they really didn't seem to care. Also, it was impossible to get quarters for the laundry, the front desk didn't have any, there were no change machines, and the pool bar didn't give them out either. I am not trying to be overly critical, just pointing out things that bothered me about the place. Overall, good hotel.
OLCC-- We requested the north section near Splash Lagoon, and got it!! They put us in the villas right next to Splash Lagoon within walking distance. Couldn't ask for a better location. Nice unit and plenty large enough. The resort is HUGE. I knew it was large, but didn't expect it to be as large as it was. However, I probably would not stay here again, here is why:
This is gross--Upon checking in, I went to take a shower. I unfolded the bath towel and saw what looked like feces on it (A good amount), I took a sniff, and yup, it was definatly feces. I called housekeeping right away, and they brought all new towels and offered an apology. Still, IMO, inexcusable. That should not have happened. Also the jets in the jacuzzi in the master bath spewed out dirt and grime. I thought, ok, they just havent been used in a while-- it happens. Called to have the jets cleaned, and they said it would be done. Went to take a jacuzzi a few days later, and even more dirt and grime came out. Obviously they had not cleaned them. There was also no complimentary mid-week towel/maid service (I don't know if many timeshares getting rid of this service??) and they only supply a limited amount of dishwasher detergent, paper towels, trash bags, and toilet paper, there is a note stating that you are responsible to buy supplies if you need more. I had never experienced this at a timeshare before. Overall, the resort and room were nice, the pool area was great, however, with the housekeeping issues I just can't see going back there. I can't get over the towel incident.........
But, we had a great trip!!! Did Disney for 7 days and Sea World for 2 days. Sad to be home.... Can't wait to go back!!
Any specific questions on these places, feel free to ask!!

I have a friend who stays at OLCC every year, they are headed back in July and are wondering when the new pool area will be open. Did they have any info on that while you were there?

When I was there in December, they said River Island was intended to be open by the summer but the hurricanes slipped the date. I was told the goal is third quarter which is from July to September. I will be there in late August, so like you, I'm hoping that it is ready.
