Just back from CBR and....

LOVED it!!!

What a beautiful resort. We checked in at 11:00(room was'nt ready until exactly 3:00) and I asked the woman if we were approved for our request for Jamaica or Trinidad North. She said no, we would be in Trinidad SOUTH. I could'nt believe it. That was the only island we did'nt want. I explained that we had requested to be close to the main pool and food court 8 months ago and that we had 4 kids and it would be too long a walk. She said she would switch us to Martinique the NEXT morning but we would'nt have connecting rooms(in Trin.South we would) so we basically could'nt unpack. Anyways we walked to Trinidad South when our rooms were ready from the main pool(only about a 7 minute enjoyable walk) and we LOVED everything about it!! We had a beautiful water view on the second floor, the rooms were very spacious and colorful, we were right near the quiet pool, bus stop, laundry room, and the pretty beach with nice hammocks were right outside our room(and playground for the kids) We called the front desk within 10 minutes of being there and said we did'nt want to move. They were nice enough to give us each a small fridge free of charge for our baby's milk for there bottles. The housekeeping was great(but did'nt make any animal towels) We had a problem with our remote and called maintenance; they were there within 15 minutes. We loved everything about this resort. The only thing my DH would like to see happen is to put soda machines in each unit for the refillable mugs because by the time we filled our drinks and walked back to our room our drinks were pretty much empty We hope to stay at CBR again next year and hopefully get the same room.( We watched the fireworks almost every night from our rooms!!

Been there done that,
I give you credit for not letting your preassumptions about Trinidad South get in the way. Way to go on giving it a try and not letting it ruin your vacation. I'm so glad you ended up loving the island! I won't cry if I end up there in December...

Welcome home! Glad to hear that you loved it. It was my family's favorite resort so far. It's great for families or for a romantic getaway! We had a great time on the bikes and water mice.

Thanks for the info, going in 1month 3 days and can't wait just me & my DH. This is my 8th time and 1st for CBR, every other time I tired it was booked so I'm so looking forward to going. Hope I enjoy it as much as you did.

I am surprised that they were willing to move you to Martinique since it is a preferred location costing extra.

Trinidad South is like a private resort by itself in CBR. Glad to hear you enjoyed your stay.

Have fun MelMeg and Hulabird; I hope you'll love it as much as we did. It feels like your far from Disney which can be nice after a long day at the parks. It's so relaxing; like your on a tropical island away from all the noise. It's so pretty at night to take a walk with the kids. We stayed at POFQ for our honeymoon in 1997 and wish now that we stayed at CBR!

Safetymom- We were surprised too that they were willing to put us in Martinique the next morning. They are just so accomodating there. I think they'll do just about anything to make your stay enjoyable! We met a woman there that told us her husband is a diabetic and his blood sugar dropped really low at 1:00 a.m. She was scared and did'nt want to leave him alone with 2 kids so she called the front desk panicking. They showed up within 10 minutes with candy bars and orange juice for her DH! That's service!!
