Just back from CBR and the Polynesian GV Concierge any ??

We just got back about a half hour ago. I wanna go back NOW!! LOL. It was a WONDERFUL and very relaxing vacation though I missed getting together with another Dis'er that I really wanted to meet.

Glad to hear that you are anxious to be back there....does that mean you were satisfied with the Polynesian's Concierge ? I am anxiously awaiting all the details : clean ? food ? staff ? How was Garden view ? Thanks for any and all your helpful answers !

We LOVED the Poly Concierge. It was WONDERFUL. The food was great and plentyful. We ate all of our breakfasts there, went up for snacks later in the day, Had a lite snack type dinner there most nights and had dessert and cordials there every night of our three day stay. The room was HUGE and well maintained. The hallways etc were very well maintained and pretty. I cannot say enough about the staff. They were AWESOME. We met Tara, Matthew, Lynn, Philip, Marilyn and others and they were wonderful, helpful, caring. We were in room 1520 which overlooked a small treed area with the quiet pool beyond that. With the glass door closed you couldnt hear a thing going on at the quiet pool even though people were out there till late and not being very quiet. Dh and I did the luau while the kids went to the Neverland Club. They loved the club so much they wanted to go back the next night which we did!!! Dh and I had two dinners alone! My eldest cried when he had to leave the Neverland Club. I cried when we left the resort this morning. It was SO peaceful also sitting out on one of the swings that they have on the beach and watching the sunset and just relaxing.

We would stay there again in a heartbeat. In fact we are already reserved for our 20th anniversary next year. I had reserved this before we left on vacation and I am SO glad I did. I cannot wait to get back there!!!

Welcome back!!! I'm curious as to your thoughts on CBR. What room/village were you in? Was the resort crowded? Hear any talk about their upcoming closing? Did you enjoy it there, too? Thanks!!

Disney Freak Numero Uno you were our next door neighbor. Did you happen to give a Duke Basketball to the kids in the next room?? If you did those were MY KIDDOS!!!! We were there from 8-22 to 8-25.

We were in Martinique 25 Room 2530. I love CBR also. It is actually kind of our home resort. Its the first one we went to and we keep going back to it. It was not overly crowded but we couldnt get our room moved when I had asked to so Martinque was pretty full up. Our room was right next to Bldg 24 so we were more than the distance I like to be away from OPR because of my fibromyalgia. We were right near the laundry and the quiet pool though. The staff was wonderful as usual and the housekeeper was EXCELLENT. We had notes and washcloth animals in our room every day we were there.

I cant wait to see what they do to OPR. It promises to be really really nice. I was told that there will be a restaurant with a show kitchen going up where Bridgetown Broilers is now. Captains Tavern will become something called Shutters and they ARE going to a central pay station for food like Riverside has.

Tikiman I cannot tell you how much your site helped this trip. I knew what to expect, what was offered, who some of the people were etc..... Your site was invaluable to me. Thank you SO much for having such a wonderful site with so much GREAT and current information.

Ohhhhhh btw Aerotoa (sp) is finished. They are now just working on Fiji.

We already have a lagoon view concierge room reserved for next July for our 20th anniversary. I know that the concierge will be moved to Tahiti during that time but Im sure they will make it worth it to stay during that time. I was told they have big plans.

I would go back in a heartbeat. We spent all day for four days just at the Poly and it still wasnt enough time LOL.

Well, duh...I read about your anniversary and forgot. We've never stayed in Tahiti but I love the extra room in the newer longhouses. We've been in Rapa Nui often. Both buildings are so close to the TTC as well as the smaller parking lot. What a great trip to anticipate!

My son won that basketball on the boardwalk and he wasn't able to pack it. His girlfriend was the one who gave it to your kids. Hope they enjoyed it.
room 1521 was a great room. After I emailed disney to complain about housekeeping at Akl last year, I received a call from someone in the executive offices. I jokingly told her that we were coming to the Polynesian in august and could they please clean the room. well, when we checked in the cm at the concierge desk told me that the room had been specially cleaned! Housekeeping was great on a daily basis also.
anyway, we had a great time and I didn't want to come home.

Disney Freak Numero Uno what a small world!!!! I never did get the chance to thank you personally for the ball you gave my sons. Dh couldnt remember which room the person was in that gave it to him. The boys LOVE that ball. ROFL we had to hide it till we got home because they loved it a little too much and boy does that make a racket on the floors at the Poly. Thank you so much!!!

I hope my rambunctious boys didnt make too much noise for you. I bet you got really tired of hearing STOP FEET in front of your door when we would leave. My littlest is not known for walking ANYWHERE! BTW my youngest was very smitten with your sons girlfriend ROFL. He kept looking to see if she was looking at him at the lounge that day!

How neat that they specifically cleaned your room!!! We were also there because of a bad stay at the Contemporary and a bad houskeeping experience there. What a coincidence!!!

How neat that we were in the same hotel side by side and on the same boards also!!!

I am glad the web pages helped you out and I was glad to hear you had a good trip. I have been hearing some bad reports lately and it was getting so frustrating that I was thinking of stopping the pages. I did not want to keep the pages up if the Polynesian was not going to be what people expect after seeing the web pages. I am glad they helped you prepare for your trip.

Thanks for the Aotearoa info. Someone here reported staying in it a week ago and said it was great. I think Fiji should be opened soon. They were working on it when we were there in July.

I'm glad you had such a wonderful stay. We had a great stay in Polynesian concierge in July/August. I can't say enough wonderful things about it.

Tikiman, your pages are wonderful. They have been a big help for a lot of people. Don't worry to much about the bad reports. There are still plenty of us out there having wonderful experiences at the Polynesian concierge.

Steve..... Until the last few weeks, we were reading nothing but positive comments about the Poly. 20 years ago we went there for our honeymoon and next month we return for our 20th anniversary.

We have asked for a lagoon view, concierge room. Because of what we have read about the Disney Magic making a comeback, we took the plunge and became members of the vacation club.

We'll drop a trip report into this forum when we return. If you are getting frustrated, we can only imagine who else might not look forward to returning to Disney.

We look forward to this as much as we did our honeymoon. I hope the results are the same. We'll let you know either way.....
