We just came home yesterday from 3 nights at the CBR and 5 nights at the BWV. This was our 1st trip home and we were really looking forward to staying at the BW. There were 10 of us, so I booked a 2 bedroom and a studio. We spent July 1 thru 3 at the CBR and we checked in at 8am on the 4th at the BW.

We got a nice "welcome home" at check-in. The studio was available but we had to wait on the 2 bedroom. So we piled all the luggage in the studio and headed to the MK. We didn't get into the 2 bedroom until 4:45, but a least we could change for the pool in the studio.

We had standard view 4109/4111 (2 bedroom) and 4113 (studio). All I can say is "WOW". It was wonderful. The rooms were great. Everything was well maintained. The sofa bed was a little hard to put away, but everything else was perfect.

I loved sitting outside on the balcony. I brought coffee and filters for the morning, but we did buy 2 refillable mugs. It was nice when our dd's wanted drinks at the pool. We were there every afternoon. Since I usually put the mugs in my backpack, we could grab a soda on the Boardwalk, too. The clown slide was a hit with everyone. We also had some nice drinks at Leaping Horse Libations.

The Belle Vue Room has donuts, pastries, ceral, fruit, coffee, and juice in the morning. But the selection is better at the Bakery.

I tried out the whirlpool in the room, but I forgot to pack bubble bath. Need to add that to my packing list. That tub was really relaxing.

I loved having the washer/dryer in the room. And it was really nice having all that space.

After staying there, all I can say is, "We need more points!!" ;)

Glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay! We're staying at BWV for the first time in September and we're so excited about it. I hope we enjoy our stay as much as you enjoyed yours.

Sounds like you had a wonderful 1st DVC trip with your family! We love the boardwalk too! Thank you for posting!:)

Thanks for the report! Did you get a chance to watch Illuminations from your balcony?

I'm always happy to hear that a new member's first experience at a DVC resort is a positive one. Thanks for sharing your impressions! :)

Thanks for your post. Where did you get the refillable cups? And where could you fill them? Thanks!

Glad to hear you had a great time! BW is a bit different than CBR :sunny:

How much were the breakfast items in the Belle Vue Room?

Glad to hear you had a great first trip!

I just want to caution you about this. DO NOT put bubble bath in a whirlpool tub. We have one at home, and besides clogging up the tub, you will have bubbles and suds that will flow over the entire unit! We had a houseguest once put bubble bath in ours, and it was a mess! Manufacturers warn against it. If you ever saw the I Love Lucy segment where her washer overflows, you will understand the problem!:teeth:

LOL!! I recreated this episode in one of my first OKW trips. ;) I've heard that it isn't recommended. If you do use the bubble bath, a teeny drop will give you more than enough bubbles.

So glad to hear you had a great start to many years of DVC trips!

BWV is one of my home resorts. I am so glad to hear that you loved it and that everything was in great shape. Thanks for sharing.

Next time you forget your stuff for the tub, go over to the shopping village to a shop called "Basin". They sell wonderful bath bombs, no suds, just wonderful smells while you bathe. And DVC members get a 10% discount;)

Thanks for the tips about the bubble bath. I didn't know that. That's what I really like about this board, I've gotten a lot of great information here.

JRey4240 - We bought the refillable mugs at the Boardwalk Bakery. They cost $11.99 plus tax. We refilled them at the bakery, Spoodles walk-up window, Seaside Sweets, the Belle Vue Room and Leaping Horse Libations. And they don't actually refill your mug, they hand you the drink in a paper cup. Then you pour it into the mug.

chris1gill - At the Belle Vue room we paid $1.59 for a regular donut, $1.99 for a creme filled donut and $2.39 for a danish. They had a limited selection and one morning they had already closed up when we got there. So we ended up at the bakery.

Lexxiefern - we were always at one of the parks, so I don't know if we could see Illuminations from our room.

Can't wait to go back.:)
