Arrived home 14 hours ago...exhausted! This was our first visit to CBR. I thought that the tropical theming was just great! Loved the beaches and hammocks at each village, and the quiet pools were just close enough to the room.
Only problem we had was check-in. Check in time is supposed to be 3 pm. We got there (after airline delay...grrrrr:mad: ) @ 2:45 and were told that our room was not ready, call back "around 5!!" So I asked for another room from the mute desk clerk, and was told "no", that the carpet had been freshly shampooed and needed time to dry. HAH! :headache: That rug had not even been recently vacuumed to judge by the lint on it! I HATE TO BE LIED TO! Anyway, we left our carry-ons and went to the Mickey's Halloween Party, where it proceeded to rain cats and dogs all evening. We wanted to hang around for the parade and fireworks, but DH had just about had it by 9:45 and he left me and DD to go back to CBR and unpack. DD and I returned to the room at 12:30 am and the luggage had JUST ARRIVED! It took DH three phone calls to get all our bags to the room. He was NOT happy:mad: and very unimpressed with the resort, which was my fault. I should have prepared him a little better for what a moderate resort entailed; DH's only other on-site stay was at Saratoga Springs, so he was kind of dissappointed!
Otherwise, the room was good, very quiet. OK housekeeping. Bell services was great! They picked up the bags right on time and checkout was much smoother than checkin. All in all I would stay there again.

Just wondering where your room was located, which village? My DH and DS are arriving at CBR next Friday and have booked the preferred view, only thing available with the AP rate for their dates, but probably a good idea anyway due to the size of the resort. How was the bus transportation? Food court, pool?

As many times as I have stayed at the CBR - I have never had to wait past check-in time for a room.....I would not be happy!!:confused3

All the times that we have stayed at CBR, we have always arrived around 11:30am and have always gotten into our room early.

Yes, I really expected to be able to go to the room and freshen up before going to the park. Asking about a different room did no good; the CM pretty much ignored my question. He was probably the most unfriendly CM ever--he never greeted us and was pretty much mute until he told us to call back after 5 pm!:confused3
Our travel agent had requested on the reservation that we would like Jamaica and a second floor. We got Aruba, second floor, but at least it was a corner room, which I like for the extra window. The room view was courtyard, and was actually pretty nice. The pink-and-purple buildings were not the best, though!:lmao:
Our location was pretty quiet, though. We never heard other guests passing by.

Going to CBR on Oct 19th, before checking in at the BWV on the 21st.

Actually, this kind of stuff can happen at any of hotels on property, not just the values or moderates. It mostly depends on what time of year you are visiting and how busy they are. :)

I'm sure it was just one of those things that can happen to anyone, but I sure hope it doesn't happen to us in Dec.
