Just back from BWV and aside from buses, it couldn't have been better. The first night, Saturday, we stayed at SOG - which was very nice for just one night. We were in a BWV SV studio (4125) from Sunday through Friday night - it was our first time in a studio for more than just a night. I'd been worried about the two of us (DH and me) feeling cramped in a studio for that long, but I was pleased to find that we had no problems with it. The villa was VERY clean and except for the bulb in the floor lamp (I called and reported it), everything was in working order. Service, CMs and housekeeping were all great.

I missed the washer/dryer (a LOT) but managed to get laundry done early one morning with little trouble. The LG w/d's were nice.

The resort was in good shape. A CM said the DVC villas will be undergoing a refurb next year, but he didn't say exactly when - and wouldn't give particulars. The floors in the lobby area were being sanded and refinished while we were there and looked good.

The Saturday night of arrival we ate at the California Grill (it was wonderful in all respects) and we were able to see the special fireworks exhibit by the American Pyrotechnics Association from the viewing area - it was fired off right in FRONT of the CR. WOW!! We were up close and personal for an UNBELIEVABLE treat! It was a real "hair blown straight back" experience. It was followed immediately by Wishes in the MK - and Wishes actually looked rather timid in comparison.

We had a wonderful week - ate a lot and walked even more to work it off - and got to spend lots of time with DS and DIL who both work at WDW. We caught the the first night of F&W on Friday and made the most of it. The weather was wonderful after the first couple of days, and crowds were light until Friday night at Epcot. We walked on most rides all week. We waited only about 10 min. for TSM with a Fast Pass.

We grabbed the Bounce Back/free dining offer for a studio at SSR next year for the same time period - we love this time of year in the World. We took the BB because want to save points for a family trip in 2010 - and it's a great price! BWV wasn't open yet for the offer and we'll switch later if we can - but we'll be happy if we stick with SSR (we'll be renting a car again so we won't have to deal with the bus issue). And DH wants to check out the Treehouses.

Great trip and we're looking forward to next year!

Edited to add - DH played the Palm, Magnolia and Osprey Ridge courses (with the DVC discount, of course) and was really bummed to hear we'll be losing Osprey to the Four Seasons. But he says he'll probably survive it. Eventually. It's a good thing he loves the Palm and Magnolia.

What is the Bounce Back/free dining offer? I have heard of the free dining for those paying rack rates, but not of the Bounce Back offer?

Sounds like you had a fantastic trip, especially those special fireworks!

The Bounce Back offer was on a flyer in our studio. You have to book it while you're there - before you check out. It's for check-ins from 8/23/09 - 10/1/09. Must be booked on or before 10/24/08. From what I could figure, it was specific to DVC stays and looks like a little less than rack rate - with free dining and tickets. I only got 1 day base tickets because we'll probably upgrade to AP's when we get there - and reuse them in 2010.

I just checked - the Bounce Back total for 4 adults (I added DS and DIL to the ressie) for 6 nights in an SSR studio is $1741 w/tax. Rack rate room-only w/tax would be $2025, so yes, it's less than rack rate. Heck, we spent $1200 this trip just on food for the four of us - we ate a number of TS meals, Cali Grill, the Wave, etc...it adds up fast, even with a DDE card. So the BB doesn't look like a bad deal. And I almost missed it - I almost threw the flyer away before I really read it. So anyone who'll be there in the near future - keep an eye out for it.

I thought we only lost Eagle Pines to the 4 seasons. Are they taking Osprey Ridge also? I hadn't heard that. Bummer if its true.

My DH got this from the Pro at Osprey, so I'd guess it's true. He said that Four Seasons is ripping up Eagle Pines to build on, and Osprey will be the Four Season's course. My DH would LOVE it if it's not true.
