This was my 3rd stay at BWV as a member, all in July. From a recent post on this board, I saw a picture of the standard view rooms at BWV being refurbished. I had a standard 1 bedroom booked from 7/6 to 7/12. As I drove up the driveway, I remembered that post and wondered. Sure enough, it was 3 pm, no wait at check in, and the CM said I have a surprise for you. Anyway, I was upgraded to room 5001 which is the very last room (next to JellyRolls, the room is actually above it). I had the dreaded "long walk" but in a heartbeat, I would jump on this room again. The view of the BW activity was fun to see and of course, we had a perfect view of Illuminations. I also noticed the room was in perfect shape, almost like it was painted last year.
Some other thoughts:
We also stayed 3 nights at AKL (not on points) and really enjoyed it. How cool is it when you move from a regular room and into a DVC property?
I went to member day and ldidn't stay long. I give the DVC people 100% credit for having these days. It's just that I have 2 little kids and our time for the parks is invaluable. When I'm at the stage in my life when I have more "down" time, I think I would have stayed longer and talked w/ my fellow DVCer's. It seemed like a nice crowd. Again, I think the effort should be appreciated.
We did the unthinkable and went to MK on 4th of July. It was very patriotic. Red, white and blue everywhere. I always avoided the parks on the 4th but will no more. Even with the recent layoffs, it seemed WDW had everyone working and the time I was there, opening to 3pm, the crowds were manageable. I can't speak for firework time, I was long gone relaxing at the pool. When we left, I saw the masses growing more.
First time at Hoop, it was worth the money. Fantasmic package is worth it. 50's meatloaf was tops. Fast pass still great. New Goofy show at Saloon was average. Beaches is still great.
Anyway, just thought I write a post to say that this was my 3rd week long stay as a member and it was our best. Absolutely no complaints, I not sure how were going to top this one in 2004. (Although, it will be fun trying)
