I vacationed with my boyfriend. We stayed 4 nights at the Hard Rock Hotel before arriving at BWI. Although HRH is very nice, I was ready for my Disney fix! We pulled into the BWI at about 9:30 am. We used valet parking ($6 per day) for our entire stay and it was really worth it. If you do a lot of driving around and resort visiting, valet is worth every penny spent.
We walked through the doors and I was so excited to be at Disney again.
My first sight was that giant couch near the entrance. How many of you BWI regulars get your picture taken there?
We walked into the lobby. It is very bright and cheery, yet elegant. There was nobody in line so we made our way up to the counter.
CM Mike was the one who checked us in. He was by far the most polite and "Disney-like" CM we have encountered at check in. Mike asked me if I had any special requests. We were booked with a standard view. I said that we would really appreciate the best view possible with the standard rooms. Mike asked us if we would like a King bed room. I love king beds so I gladly accepted the offer. He said he had the "perfect" room for us. He wasn't lying.
We were off to room 5308, which is the top floor of BWI. Our room was a short walk from the elevator. I opened the door to find that we were in a corner room, whcih had an extra window area. It really changed the look of the room. It was so charming to have the extra windows and curtains. The room had the massive king sized bed, table and chairs and a nice sofa chair with hidden Mickeys on it (instead of the daybed). It was plenty of room for 2.
Out on the balcony, which was full-sized, we could see Spaceship Earth, the Eiffle Tower, Morocco and Japan from Epcot.
All I could say was, "WOW". I swear, I could have sat in that room for 7 days and would have been happy as a clam!
My boyfriend went out for soda and I noticed we had a message. It was Mke from the front desk. He said he hoped I was enjoying the view and to be sure to be on the balcony in time for the fireworks. He wished us a magical stay and said to contact him if we needed anything. I could think of nothing else I needed, but I went down to thank Mike profusely for the beautiful room.
Well, the fireworks were just beautiful from the balcony. It was a very romantic room for a couple. If any couples will be going to BWI soon, definitely try to get in that area, even without the king bed.
We ate at Spoodles for breakfast and had good food.
We did ESPN for dinner and my boyfriend found a hair in his potatoes, but they took it off the bill and offered another food for free.
We spent a fun night at JellyRolls.
We rented the surrey bikes and absolutely loved them. What fun!
The BWI room service was fast and delicious. We had breakfast twice and pizza once.
Ok, I'm going on and on here. Thanks for sticking with my report if you got this far! BWI is lovely and I'll definitely be back there again someday.
