I've just returned from a short 3-day trek to the Motherland!!

I got to spend 1 night at the BWI Garden Suite. It was fabulous! Especially since I was able to get it at the "suite deal" last September. 3 adults with 1 day tickets for a package total of $217.53!! Woo Hoo!! It was great.

I see now why the rooms over there cost what they do. The boat to EPCOT is great. I don't know if I'll ever be able to go Moderates again!

My husband couldn't go, so my youngest daughter went and I also took my 5-yr old grandson. It was no problem. I just paid for the ticket for Sean and the concierge attendant changed my husband's ticket to my daughter. The suite is absolutely lovely. The jacuzzi was huge!! My grandson loved it!!

I had another night booked at that rate but Disney changed the price to show I had a balance due of $669.36 after I had already paid in full for the package. So I cancelled that night and stayed 2 nights at Caribe Royale and had a great time over there. So great, that I'll be back in Oct for $99 for 3 nights total!! Food & Wine Festival, here I come!:woohoo: :woohoo:

Wow, You got some great rates!!!
I have been looking at staying at the BW too.
Please post any pics you may have...
Tell/ show me everything!!!

That is WONDERFUL! At least Disney honored some of those reservations..:dance3:

Please post photos's!

So happy you had a good time! I would love to hear more as we are staying in a BWI garden suite in August.

How was the walk to the club/lounge? We have heard great things about the lounge at the BWI.

Did your suite have a balcony? How was the suite itself ?

Tell me more:thumbsup2

The lounge was wonderful. It was a short walk to the main bldg and then just an elevator ride to the 4th floor. I couldn't believe all the food they had for breakfast, cold cereals, bread, croissants, muffins, rolls, danishes, fruit, yogurt, milk, juice, coffee. It was great.

The room was incredible. The jacuzzi was so large. My grandson loved it! We did not have a balcony. The rooms with the balcony are not as wide as the rooms with the private garden. The garden was so pretty. The whole section where the Garden Suites are located is so quiet and peaceful. We were in unit 1212.

I have pics posted at http://picasaweb.google.com/dpilet9947

If I ever win the lottery, I am definately coming back there to stay!!

I am planning on sending Disney a nice thank you note telling them how wonderful our stay was and what a wonderful rate!!

I wonder if they'll send me a pin offer??!!

We are booked into a GS for April. We have always stayed at a monorail resort but the kids are getting older and are looking for a little night time activity. WE can NOT wait!

I am SO happy they honored your rate. The pictures of the suite look stunning!

I'm so happy they honored it also. When we first got to the resort and I pulled up to the little guardhouse thingy, I don't know why, but I showed my travel docs from WDTC to the guard. He went inside, gt on the phone and did not come out for a few minutes. I was thinking "Holy crap, they're not going to let me in!" But he came out and said they were waiting for me at the resort and "Welcome Home". It was awesome. I've never stayed CL before and I was in awe. Our luggage was loaded up and we were whisked straight away to the room, no check in for us!! I felt like a movie star or something. I did have to make changes to the ressie, my husband did not want to come (non-Disney lover  ) so my youngest daughter came along with my grandson. A CM was in the suite when we arrived, I gave her my CC and she returned with a ticket for my grandson and a new ticket in my daughter's name. And no, they didn't add the supposed balance to the card, either!!

It was truly fabulous. Now I just have to figure out how I'm going to stay CL on future trips!!

Thank goodness, my son-in-law works part time for Disney and we will be able to take advantage of 60% off at OKW & SSR!!
Now to find out what kind of discounts he can get on the regular deluxe rooms!

Yay for you! I am one of those that had their reservations for this cancelled and am thrilled that you managed to slip through the cracks and got to enjoy your reservation!!!

Good job keeping this hush-hush on here until you got back!!!!

You don't know how hard it was to keep quiet when I wanted to shout it from the rooftops. But I know Disney monitors this site and others and even PMs to one another, so I was not taking any chances and just zipped my lips. But now I can sing it from the rooftops!! It was wonderful!

And I can still hope that there will be other glitches in the future!:lmao:

Did Disney offer this deal in error?

Did Disney offer this deal in error?

There was a glitch in their online booking system. Several people were able to book stays. Disney than changed "Paid in Full" ressies to show a balance due so a lot of people cancelled.

It was a glitch in their system which they chose not to honor. There was a lot of controversy about this on these boards last year. Booking glitches happen all of the time. I remember a few years back when the Holiday Inn in DTD had a booking glitch on their site and you could book rooms for $.19
Holiday Inn honored those rates. Of course, the hotel was not repaired since the 2004 hurricanes, so they put people in other hotels. But they did honor the rates.

Anyway, I for one, am glad Disney honored at least 1 night of my stay. As you can see in my siggie, we go down there quite a lot and this just renews my faith in Disney. I prefer to think of it as part of their YOAMD promotion and I got a terrific rate on a suite and free tickets!!

Your pictures are beautiful.....makes me want to book a Garden Suite at BWI that's for sure!!:thumbsup2 I have a family of 5, though.

Glad you had a nice stay....thanks for sharing.:goodvibes

That is so awesome that you were able to keep your reservation, kudos to you for keeping it quiet.

Thanks so much for sharing the pics wiht us so we can all dream.....:) glad you had a good time!

Your pictures are so beautiful!:goodvibes I am so glad you were able to stay there--isn't Disney so magical.

So you think that the suites with the balcony are smaller? We had requested a balcony one for our stay in August but now I am thinking we shouldn't. I know there are only 3 with balconies--do you think you saw a balcony one?

We have also requested a roll a way for our stay as suggested by the CM. She assured us it would fit because we had a deluxe concierge room booked and were still looking for a little more room/ little more bathroom! Do you think a roll a way will fit?--either upstairs or downstairs is fine. We have DS and DD who cannot share a bed---too old:thumbsup2

Thanks for all your help and pictures! We are soooo excited.

The 3 suites with the balconies are all together. They do appear narrower than the others. However, I don't know if they are longer than the other units to make up for the narrower width.

In our unit, a rollaway would not have been a problem. It culd go right in front of the armoire. The coffee table could be moved towards the powder room when the sofa is opened to a bed.

Maybe you can call back and ask about the size of the 2 different units.

I know you'll have a wonderful time. We did. How many nights do you have booked?

Thanks for info on the space for the rollaway bed! I can stop worrying that I made a mistake in switching from the deluxe concierge room to the suite. I think I will call the boardwalk directly to ask about the rooms with the balcony. But after looking at your pictures, I think either way the garden suites are beautiful. :thumbsup2

We are staying 7 nights. Can't wait!:goodvibes
