Just Back from BWI CL, AKL CL, HRH

Just returned from a great 2 wk stay. Loved the BWI. We had a deluxe room 4229 right over the bakery - thanks to KerryCm for persuading me Room was ready when we got there This worked out great for my family. Being so close to the lounge was great for my boys. The CM's here were the best I've encountered and I would not hesitate to stay here again- in fact don't know why it took me so long

This was our third stay at AKL. It was very busy when we arrived and even though they were suppose to call up to let concierge know we were coming no one did. We unloaded the car and waited for valet and a bellman. After several minutes, a bellman came over, I let him know we were concierge and he was very apolegetic that no one was there. He immediately took care of things for us and took us up to the lounge. Room was not ready and we had been assigned 6th floor. I had requested Arusha Overlook, and I realize it is a request- the view might be great from 6th floor and I asked if they could let me see a room. Everything was being cleaned and I did not want to take a chance. They did find me something on the 5th, but what a hike! The were not too happy being so far from the lounge, but we managed. I'd be interested in hearing from anyone who has stayed 6th floor savanah view. Everything else went fairly smoothly, including a last minute visit from my 24 yr old for the weekend I will write up more after some of the laundry is done

We stayed in #4229 in April! Isn't it an incredible location? And wasn't the view from the balcony awesome?
Sorry about the glitches in your AKL CL stay. It is my all-time favorite. Hoping to go back in November with friends - no children this time

paladin-we are staying BWI Concierge Deluxe Nov 26th-Dec 4th--I think we will just miss each other. It is our second time at the Boardwalk but first time Concierge.

You will really enjoy the BWI. I travel with football size boys The extra room was exactly what we needed to spread out. Having 2 TVS was great. One is always tuned in to ESPN I will try to post pictures

Everything turned out fine at the AKL. It still remains my favorite, just so relaxing and the smell says welcome back. Although BWI is a close second (use to be the poly when kids were younger) Enjoy your adults only trip. Are you doing the sunset safari?

sfbank - yes, we check in the day you check out. We've only stayed on the Villas side before - I love those one bedrooms - but are looking forward to trying concierge.

psar - there are only the two of us, but we thought the extra room would be nice, plus another couple may join us for the weekend, so the room will be great.

6th floor rooms are very hard to come by. I have always requested it and have never gotten 6th floor. No way would I give that up!

Glad to hear about the BWI CL rooms being so big. I think it is our next CL after this Dec.

I am so glad that you loved your stay at BWI concierge. The cm's really are top notch there. We leave for BWI concierge in 4 days. I can't wait! It has been a year since I was last there. Way too long!

So glad to hear you enjoyed your stay! You had the exact room I had last Oct. I cannot wait to go again. Looks like it will be in December. The cast there are my favorites and always willing to go that extra distance for their guests.

I've had virtually the same experiences with you with BWI and AKL. Our Boardwalk room was GORGEOUS, HUGE with a beautiful view and spacious balcony. The CL offerings are the same as at YC or BC, but the lounge is twice as big (and with the Illuminations view). I really like the staff in BW CL as well. I wish I remembered names better, but everyone was really nice.

In AKL CL, we didn't have the same level of service but we had a gorgeous room on the 5th floor with a perfect savannah view, so no complaints there. While we have tried AKL many times, we only did the CL once because we were disappointed in the service, but I have vowed to give it a second try and see what happens, because plenty of other people have loved it there and we've loved our stays in non-CL AKL

How did you get 4229? Did you request it specifically or just got lucky? We had a huge room over the pizza window last year, but can't remember the room number and don't know if we just got lucky and got upgraded to a deluxe as we just booked a waterview. Are all the rooms over that area considered deluxe? Ours had 2 beds and enough room between the bed and the balcony to put another one! Was that a deluxe? Can you tell me how the numbers run along that hallway?

When we were there last August we had room 4229, too! I loved that room. It's so spacious since it is a deluxe room with the extra sitting area. Two tv's were fantastic!

We had booked a deluxe room and I had requested the 4th floor. The deluxe rooms have 2 queens, a pullout couch and 2 TV's. I think that there are only a few deluxe rooms on this floor. KerryCM would know for sure.

There are only 6 deluxe rooms, 3 on the 4th floor and 3 on the 3rd floor. These rooms have an extra sitting area with a pull out queen size sleeper and an extra tv. The extra space is wonderful to have. These rooms sleep 6.

There are waterview, quiet and deluxe rooms on the CL. A waterview room does not guarentee a deluxe room. You must book this category. The odd number rooms are waterview and the even numbered room are a quiet view. These rooms face the quiet pool area.
