Loved the BWI. Would not go back to WDW unless I could stay there. My 14yo DD and I enjoyed every moment of our stay there. Room (Standard) had great view of courtyard and Epcot fireworks and sounds from Canada and England from balcony. Service and theming were superb--plus walk to water shuttle into Epcot and MGM was great. Can't say enough good things. Felt a warm and fuzzy feeling all through the resort.

Also visited other deluxes--short comments.
Y&BC-busy,busy--lots of little kids. Resort looked as if it could use some refurbishing. Carpets looked worn etc. SAB would be great for families.
Swan and Dolphin-typical convention hotels that could be located in LA or Boston. Cool and not very inviting IMHO.
Poly and GF-both have great theming. I felt like I was back in Hawaii. Surprised there were not more restaurant choices at Poly.
AKL-way out there location wise. Theming great, but I would not enjoy sitting overlooking dry, brown grass. DD did not like it at all.

I questioned my choice before going. Now I'll tell everyone to splurge and spend a few days at the BWI. Can't wait to return!

Did the BWI rooms have VCR's ? I read somewhere you could rent videos on the BW. We are staying there in July. Do you remember your room #. Did you have a full balcony?

Losthat: Glad to hear you had such a good time at BWI - your room sounds great! Can you tell us your room number? You are the first person that has felt the same as we did about AKL : too far away from everything and the view of dry, brown grass is not very nice (and we are animal lovers):( !!!

The corridor that runs right near the elevator on the 4th floor has rooms 4300, 4302,4304,4308,4310,4312--all should be good. They are non-smoking but you can smoke on the balcony. The balcony is smallish-but you can fit two out there to sit. Very quiet location but near elevator and as I mentioned a nice view of fireworks. Best view we found was out on Boardwalk near JellyRolls. You can really see them there.

AKL was a breakfast stop. Very quiet there-Boma was empty. Server was great and I enjoyed food, but would not want to breakfast there each morning. I too love animals and enjoyed AK but would find this resort very depressing on a rainy day. Very dark IMHO. I wonder if business is ever good there? Hope you enjoy your visit to BW. Wish I was there now.

dbail-Our room had a nice Sony TV and remote had VCR settings. There was not a VCR in the room, but possibly you could rent one? I'd suggest you go out and enjoy the entertainment on BW from a nice rocking chair instead!

It is WDW and they just started (or are starting)refurbishment.Glad you had a nice stay.Enjoy your next.:)

hi: i can't help you out with the bwi rooms, but the bwv have vcrs in them. there is a fair selection of movies available at the community hall by the quiet pool. i don't know what the rental charges are; the movies are free to dvc members. the location of this resort is great; you'll love your stay here.

the excitment is taking over. 3 weeks from today I am going to be in my most favorite place in the world. wanna laugh, I won a trip to Australia for the 2000 Olmypics in Sydney and although i thought Sydney was really beautiful I pick WD over that. I hope I can see the fireworks from my room, I am staying concierge, ARGH, I can't wait. Thanks for telling us about the BWI, I am so exciting.:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :bounce: :bounce: :Pinkbounc

Are they starting renovations on the YC? What part and when? Last November when we were at the BWI, they were renovating and last two mornings of our stay were awakened to hammers and pounding...I am not going thru that again......Thanks :(

How crowded was the boardwalk Inn / villas? Did you walk all the way over to the theme pool, or just used the quiet pool by the Inn? How was parking? Valets? Thanks, when we stayed at villas, the parking was terrible very remote and the valets were even worse, hope things got better? Thanks MKY

The Inn did not seem to be crowded at all. The only day it seemed to be busy was the 20st (Mon.) with lots of guests registering, I'm guessing for a convention. Compared to Y&BC it was very quiet. Never made a PS and got seated quickly for all meals in the area. Used the quiet pool -- very quiet. The walk to the big pool wasn't long though as I did check it out. The valets were great, only once did I wait a few minutes. Actually saw some of them running to parking lot to get cars. Bus to MK was fairly empty as were the shuttles to MGM and EPCOT. I have no complaints only compliments for the staff. Called upon arrival for a coffee pot and it came quickly. If you bring your own coffee you are not charged for the pot. I'm waiting for my final bill but think my valet parking was also included as it was not listed on the final bill Tuesday morning when I checked out!

We used the Luna pool when we stayed at the Inn and did not find the walk to be a problem. We went out the side door and under the porch (by the Harbor Club). We too felt the BC was over run with kids compared to BWI (but the Sandcastle Club was great).
