Hi all....just back from a great stay at our home resort... first time we've stayed there in a long time and we missed it! Have to say I'm impressed with all of the sprucing up going on at WL these days. Of course, I realize a good portion of it is due to the fact they need to look really good to prospective buyers, but, it's still nice to see. We did have a bite to eat and drinks at Geyser Point.....DH really liked the burger he got...my turkey sandwich was just so-so. It was not crowded at all the evening we were there.....maybe 3 tables including us plus a few people at the bar. It was ok......but I still like the ambiance of Territory Lounge. Also, toured CCV at the Preview Center.....more on that on the DVC Resort forum. Housekeeping seems to be a little better, but, they do have a way to go yet. Our stovetop obviously just had a quick swipe done to it and the front of frig had greasy fingerprints all over it. However, all in all, other things, like the bath, were cleaner than they have been recently. One thing really bugged me, though. This was the first time we had stayed since those awful vinyl "woodlook" floors (I told you it had been a while since our last stay there!) Actually, I know they've been going in during all the refurbs, but, we've been just missing a stay at the resorts that have them. They really are horrible.....felt sticky all the time.....so much so that I actually ran my hand over the floor in several spots to check. And, please pardon me for saying so.....but they look really cheap and have not held up well at all. I was so disturbed about the way they look I emailed DVC about it yesterday when we got home. I was very surprised when I received a phone call today from Member Satisfaction who assured me that they take members thoughts into consideration when it is time to do refurbs. During our conversation I stated that I understand carpeting probably isn't the best choice, but, pointed out that VGF did have hardwood flooring and I am assuming they discovered that wasn't a viable choice either. However, there are now very economical wood look ceramic tiles available, which would make a much better presentation than the awful vinyl. So, hopefully, we see a change with the next round of flooring refurbs! Too late for CCV though......one thing I did notice is that the models have the awful vinyl flooring!
