We just returned from our first trip as vacation club members from a stay at the Boardwalk Villas. All I can say is WOW! We had such a fantastic time at this beautiful resort. We have two year and a half old twins and I can't imagine staying in a "normal" hotel room after having stayed in a 1 bedroom villa. It was so convienient to have a full kitchen and washer and dryer (it was so wonderful to come home from vacation without a suitcase full of laundry to do!) We were able to keep the boys on their regular schedule, and have their favorite foods right in the kitchen.

My husband and I must have said "buying into the DVC is the best thing we have done" at least a hundred times a day.

I wanted to thank everyone on the boards for all of the advice and recommendations.

If anyone new has any questions about the resort just let me know and I'll try to answer them for you, as so many did for us before we went.

Thanks again for all of the helpful advice everyone!

:thanks: Thanks for the heart warming trip report and bringing a smile to my face! :)

It's great to hear how your family felt so at home. It really is a wonderful feeling, isn't it? :lovestruc

Just wonder,.... how long will your countdown be :upsidedow to your next visit home?
:hippie: Being bitten by the :smickey: Mickey bug is the best!

You hit the nail on the head--DS is 15 mos old and we have been there twice with him (his only trips in fact). I think we are so spoiled to stay there and keep him on schedule, have his favorite foods, etc. We are going to a non-Disney trip in a month and it's a world of difference!

We are also big fans of BWV...we own there as well....nice to hear such a good report!

We can't wait to go back!

Now you know why I bought at BWV.

glad to hear you had a wonderful time!! :sunny:
for us, the biggest "problem" with the BWVs is that it's soooooooo hard to stay away!! (& comparing EVERY place you stay from now on to this amazing resort!) :cloud9:

Taking vacations with little ones is difficult. With that said--having a one bedroom villa with the kitchen and washer/dryer is heavenly. My biggest reason for buying into DVC was the space and conviences the villas had to offer.

I am really glad you had a great time!!!!!!!!!!

I still can't get over how much a room like this makes a defference. I also wanted to address some things I heard mentioned before I left to put others minds at rest. I read that the thermostats were pre set to not go lower than 68 degrees and that they also were on motion sensors that would turn off at night because there wasn't any movement in the room and also when you were at the parks all day and came back to the room it was hot. We were never too hot or uncomfortable (and I am always warm and prefer the temperature to be cooler and I had no problem what so ever). Also the villas were sold out when we were there and I honestly couldn't believe it because it was so quiet (I never even heard another door in the hallway close or toilet flushing nearby I really felt like we were the only ones on our floor!) We know there were others because we would see them in the hallway but I couldn't get over how nice and quiet it was in the rooms. I never smelled food cooking from other rooms, or heard other peoples voices walking down the hallways. The hallways were a little bit long, (we were in one of the last rooms in the far back too) but nothing as bad as I was prepared for. I was picturing them to be like the MGM in Las Vegas, and they weren't that horrible. Heck after eating all those Mickey ice cream bars at the park I could definetly do a little extra walking! :) It honestly never felt crowded and all of the cast members as well as the guests of the hotel were all so nice and friendly. I just can't say enough wonderful things, I am just so happy to be able to stay at such beautiful resorts now since we've become members. I'm already counting down the days until we go to the Beach club in November!

Great to hear that you had such a wonderful trip. Everything you said is what makes DVC such a good fit for our family too. Basically, the ability to go to WDW and actually come back feeling refreshed!

DW likes to do all the laundry before we go home too so she comes home to a clean house and no laundry....like getting an extra day of vacation! Not much more than one day though. :rolleyes1

Newbies who post threads asking why they should buy DVC would do well to find this post and bookmark it. Thanks. :)

I'm glad you had a great trip! I'm getting really excited because my friends and I leave in 7 days for our first stay at BWV!! We're only staying in a studio, but we're getting a preferred view so hopefully that should be good. I wanted standard because it's less points, but the waiting list came through first for the preferred, and if we had stayed on the waiting list for standard and took it, we would have lost points since we were borrowing from next year. I really hope the preferred view is worth it!!
