Just back from a 5 night stay at BLT and wanted to pass along the high points (not much in the way of low points to share!).

There were 3 of us (me, DW, and DD5) in a 1 bedroom. Room #7920, MK view, views included everything from Space Mountain, to THE Castle, and everything around the Seven Seas Lagoon from the Grand Floridian to the Poly. 5 of the high points were watching Wishes from the living room every night. DD (hereafter referred to as "Kiddo") loved listening to Jiminy Cricket on the TV. I still prefer the view from Main Street, but having her in her PJs ready for bed was a great way to end the day. We probably won't spend the points on a MK view again soon, but for our first trip as DVC members, it was worth the splurge.

We made a couple of trips up to Top of the World. Limited menu but great food. Brucie and Lydia (Kiddo's namesake, btw) took great care of us and were very good company. There were at least a few other people there each time we went. I hope they open it open it up to more people. It's a wonderful location that would benefit from a livelier crowd (IMO, of course).

We're addicted to the location. We would walk over to the MK just to people watch and grab a cold drink in the afternoon. It doesn't get any more convenient than that.

This was our 3rd trip using Garden Grocer and they haven't disappointed yet. We have the order dropped with bell services about the time our flight lands. It's always brought to the room quickly and everything has always been there for us. Does anyone else find themselves in a dilemma of what to do with leftover food at the end of the week? We left cans of tuna, a few apples, an unopened block of cheese and an unopened box of triscuits on the center island. I'm hoping a cast member took at least some of it.

We took advantage of Community Hall for the free DVD rentals. Kacie (KC? Kaycee?) made Kiddo feel like she was the only kid in the room. I don't see us spending a lot of time there, but it's a nice spot. The one thing I would change about any of the WDW hotels is the in room entertainment. Dis channel just DOES NOT cut it for a 5 year old in the evening. I know they're not "Disney channels", but couldn't we get Sprout or Noggin? Kiddo would have been happy just to get the cartoons from the lobby piped up to the room.

Enough bout my only complaint, moving right on to the Pool...ok by me...Kiddo and DW could have skipped the parks for at least a day to spend time in the pool. Kiddo especially loved the slide.

We had a great trip. We're already figuring out how to add more days for the next trip and when we'll be able to add more points on.

Let me know what other info anyone wants/needs and I'll try to help. We spent time in AK, EPCOT, and a BOATLOAD of time in the MK.

I hope all of you guys have a trip as great as ours was.

Glad you had a great time! We love BLT! I love watching the fireworks from Top of the World. :)

What a great trip report. I hear ya on the TV channels. They really are the worst.

Sounds like you had a fabulous trip. We are going with family to BLT in January 2011. I can't wait. Thank you for all the info.:dance3:

Sounds like you had a wonderful trip!! We only have 1 1/2 more weeks till our first stay at BLT and can't wait. We are looking forward to spending time at the resort. Can't wait to try TOTW. Thanks for sharing!! DH is already talking about adding on more BLT points!

Isn't it just a fantastic resort? I am glad to hear you had a great time. It is our favorite and we just added on a few more points so that we can do our entire 5 or 6 night summer trip in a 1 bedroom.

I agree about the TV channels. That was the one thing DH wished was better, especially at night.

Next time, we are going to bring our full size laptop instead of the netbook so that somthing can be watched via that.

We also loved TOTWL and can't wait to watch Wishes from there next summer. We are going with a SV room so we can do 6 nights instead of 5 so hopefully, that will still be available to DVC members.

We always pack DVDs to put on in the evenings. It really solved the issue for us.

I agree on the location addiction! It seems each trip needs to be just one day longer. We will need to add on more points too!

Glad to hear you enjoyed BLT!

We've stayed there twice now and have really like it. I agree with the TOTWL though. Would be nice to see it busy! I seemed to just drag the kids up for fireworks this last trip and didn't even get a drink. It sure is lovely up there.

Glad to hear you had a great stay at BLT .. sounds like a fantastic view too! We really enjoyed our 4 nights there last December. We had a lake view (inner circle .. mainly of the pool and opposite villas) so we went up to the TOTW lounge a couple of nights to enjoy the fireworks. TOTW lounge was quite both nights .. there were people there enjoying a drink, but there were plenty of tables available. When we went outside to view the fireworks a few more families joined us on the viewing deck ..but there was still plenty of "front row" viewing space available.

When we have unopened grocery items remaining at the end of our trip we pack them up and take them over to bell services .. they have always been very happy to take the food and always insure us that it will be eaten ... I've left eggs and sticks of butter on the counter in the villa hoping housekeeping will take them ..but I honestly don't know if they do ...I've also left the open laundry products that we didn't finish during the trip.

I always thought it would be great if there was a member shelving area somewhere where members could leave left over supplies that another family may be able to use (unopened food items, laundry stuff etc) but I know that isn't practical for Disney to monitor an area like this so I doubt it will ever happen. We've been DVC members since 1997 and we've never found any left over items remaining in the villa (thankfully!) so I assume housekeeping took what they wanted and tossed the rest.

We too love to go into a park and people watch ..... you're right .. the BLT location is great for popping in and out of the MK!

Thanks for sharing your trip .. we are counting down the days to our December trip!

I'm glad you enjoyed it. I loved everything about BLT except TOTWL. I wasn't to much into the food but the view was beautiful for the fireworks.
