Just back from a 5 night stay at BLT and wanted to pass along the high points (not much in the way of low points to share!).
There were 3 of us (me, DW, and DD5) in a 1 bedroom. Room #7920, MK view, views included everything from Space Mountain, to THE Castle, and everything around the Seven Seas Lagoon from the Grand Floridian to the Poly. 5 of the high points were watching Wishes from the living room every night. DD (hereafter referred to as "Kiddo") loved listening to Jiminy Cricket on the TV. I still prefer the view from Main Street, but having her in her PJs ready for bed was a great way to end the day. We probably won't spend the points on a MK view again soon, but for our first trip as DVC members, it was worth the splurge.
We made a couple of trips up to Top of the World. Limited menu but great food. Brucie and Lydia (Kiddo's namesake, btw) took great care of us and were very good company. There were at least a few other people there each time we went. I hope they open it open it up to more people. It's a wonderful location that would benefit from a livelier crowd (IMO, of course).
We're addicted to the location. We would walk over to the MK just to people watch and grab a cold drink in the afternoon. It doesn't get any more convenient than that.
This was our 3rd trip using Garden Grocer and they haven't disappointed yet. We have the order dropped with bell services about the time our flight lands. It's always brought to the room quickly and everything has always been there for us. Does anyone else find themselves in a dilemma of what to do with leftover food at the end of the week? We left cans of tuna, a few apples, an unopened block of cheese and an unopened box of triscuits on the center island. I'm hoping a cast member took at least some of it.
We took advantage of Community Hall for the free DVD rentals. Kacie (KC? Kaycee?) made Kiddo feel like she was the only kid in the room. I don't see us spending a lot of time there, but it's a nice spot. The one thing I would change about any of the WDW hotels is the in room entertainment. Dis channel just DOES NOT cut it for a 5 year old in the evening. I know they're not "Disney channels", but couldn't we get Sprout or Noggin? Kiddo would have been happy just to get the cartoons from the lobby piped up to the room.
Enough bout my only complaint, moving right on to the Pool...ok by me...Kiddo and DW could have skipped the parks for at least a day to spend time in the pool. Kiddo especially loved the slide.
We had a great trip. We're already figuring out how to add more days for the next trip and when we'll be able to add more points on.
Let me know what other info anyone wants/needs and I'll try to help. We spent time in AK, EPCOT, and a BOATLOAD of time in the MK.
I hope all of you guys have a trip as great as ours was.
