We booked a standard view and ended up in room 3544. Just when I thought a room couldn't be farther away from the lobby than our last room at BC, I was proven wrong. ;) We were near the quiet pool and our room overlooked a thin border of trees, through which we could see BCV and Spaceship Earth.

The in-room safe is NOT large enough for a laptop. At least, not the one in our room.

The rooms haven't changed since I was there last spring except for the addition of H2O bath products, which didn't seem any better than the old products to me. The lobby refurb is a welcome change, though -- it looks fresh and new again.

We did have one problem with our stay - we filled out the room service card for breakfast and it was never picked up. I didn't realize it was still on the doorknob until the time I'd requested service had ended, and so I called to let them know they'd missed us. The woman who answer the phone apologized and transferred me to a manager (I didn't ask to speak to one). He was great - he offered to make our food immediate and bring it up and when I said that we really needed to be on our way sooner than that would allow, he offered to comp us at the Yacht Club Galley. He greeted us there and showed us to our table - it was all unexpected, but it's the kind of Disney service that I expect but don't hear much about anymore. He really took the time to make it right.

Oh, another problem that we didn't know about. Someone we know dropped off a surprise package for us and it never got delivered. Not really sure what happened on that one.

Valet service was very efficient and our check-in time was short, although our room wasn't ready when we arrived. (not surprising) Bus service was great, too, although we only took the bus 3 times and to MK each time since we had a rental car.

Oh - we didn't see Art the Greeter a single time... maybe he was on vacation?

We lucked out and had very warm weather - warm enough for swimming. The pool shop is OUT of noodles and said they probably wouldn't get more until the spring. The jets were not working in the hot tub closer to Hurricane Hanna's.

We didn't have any trouble getting into Beaches & Cream at late afternoon times - great since my son likes grilled cheese sandwiches.

Tara, thanks for the update, we'll be at the YC in two weeks. What did you think of the gingerbread carousel? I hope that it will still be up then!

We will be at the YC the end of Jan. Does
storm along bay provide life jackets if needed? Did you walk to MGM, if so how was the walk.:flower3: Thank you in advance.

Yes, there are life vests, no charge. The walk is doable, we have never trief it though, I'd allow 15-20 minutes though. There is a lighted pathway.

The carousel was very pretty and smells wonderful!

Great, we caught the last few minutes of the special last night with Raven Symone and she mentioned that the decorations only last through the 2nd. That was from a few years back though so I'm hoping that with us checking in on the 2nd at YC we'll still get to see it!

Yes, there are vests you can sign out at the poolside gift shop. The largest size they seemed to have was about a 4T, though.

The walk to MGM is okay -- longish, though. It took us about 25 minutes. Even though a boat had just left the dock for MGM, I think if we'd waited for the next boat, we would have gotten there at the same time. (We might have made it faster if it were just the two of us adults without our 6yo.)

Thanks for the fast reply. Also for the Grilled cheese locations, my DS5 has just recently become a picky eater (before he would eat anything). So I'm kind of new to this. I’m hoping the restaurants we have chosen will bring out the old eater in him:lmao: .

Welcome back! I'm glad to hear about the good stay at the BC. I took a walk around it on our last trip, and it looks really great! :)

We just got back from the BC sunday after a weeks stay, and we didn't see art the greeter once our whole trip either:confused3

I heard that the BC and YC have a campfire and movie under the stars every night. Is this true? If so, it is year round? Thanks!

What I've read is that it's held when weather allows, so I assume that if it's cold, they might not. They had it all week last week.
