Just got back, and I'll do a more formal trip report later, but here are a few quick observations.

1) I thought the BCV was nice, but the pool caters to kids and the resort seems more to cater to older folks...it was weird.
2) didn't like the fact that you had only choice of character breakfast or continental breakfast (was hoping for a little VWL Roaring Forks, type of place)
3)not enough life jackets for the kids, c'mon WDW go down to the marina and pick up a few more as guests request them, or allow us to get them there.
4)The walking path to the International gateway is quicker than the boat...although it doesn't help on EE days at MK if you were more inclined to try and monorail your way there via Epcot/TTC. The buses are so difficult with kids in strollers.
5)I think the 8pm closing of the pool/spa is a little early...I know there's one in the room, but the outdoor spa is much better after a long day of trudging through the parks with a 3yr old on your shoulders.
6)Low crowds (as a shareholder I'm not happy, but as a park guest I was happy)

We had alot of fun, planning on buying more pts this month, and my sister/bil will be purchasing a membership as well.

I'll give a full report in the trip reports section after I've had time to settle in and unpack.

Just and FYI for you next trip. The Yacht Club Galley has a pretty good breakfast.

When you say the pool closed at 8 p.m.-Is that Storm a Long Bay or the quiet pool?

Stormalong Bay - the Quiet Pool is open 24/7.

No spa (whirlpool tub) in the room if you rent a studio, which will be the case with my wife and me most of the time. That being said, we're still anticipating with great excitement our first trip "Home' to BCV in June. I have a feeling the next seven months are going to pass r..e..a..l slowly.

It has been 2 yrs since I was in SAB at night but the last time I was in SAB at night, yes after 8 PM there was no life guard but there was still plenty of people using the pool and the hot tubs. Has this changed?

Enjoyed reading your trip report! We will be home in Jan '03 and staying at BCV and are very excited. It looks beautiful. Our home is VWL but like to check out the others when we have the chance. I do have a couple of questions though! Am I understanding correctly that the Studio's have a whirlpool tub? Also, where are the best rooms to get a view of Epcot and Illuminations? I called the resort a month ago and asked them to send me a map of the resort which they did but it's hard to see exactly where the best rooms are. Any help would be appreciated. Also, has anyone heard about the 100 Years Celebration extending into 2003? We were there this past Feb and would love to experience it again.

Thanks for the info!!!

Jim

We were there this weekend in a studio and walked over to the YC Galley both mornings to avoid the character breakfast. Plus they have a 10% discount for DVC. Ate at the YC steakhouse Fri night and forgot about the discount there though:( on a $90 meal!

SAB is roped off and closed at night and yes, there is definitely a spa at the quiet pool. Enjoy!

SAB closing times must be seasonal. We were there over the summer and I know it was open late, 10 or 11pm.

sorry you heard wrong. no hot tubs in the studios. I believe toystoryfan was talking about staying in the 1-2 bedrooms as they have hot tubs.

can't help with your other ?

mb168, I had to laugh when I read your post. We too forgot our DVC discount at Yachtsmen Steakhouse this past May. Only our meal was $150!!! Ouch! I'm glad I'm not the only forgetful one!

I was so ticked when I got up the next morning and was looking at the perk pages for breakfast and saw Yachtsmen on there. I'd rather have done that on the 30$ breakfast than the 90$ meal. Two steaks, four drinks....sighhhhhhh
