Just back from BCV.....GREAT!!!

Hi all! Just got back last night from Spring Break in Florida. We visited the inlaws, spent 3 days on the beach is Clearwater, and had our first DVC visit, 3 nights at BCV. We stayed in room 452, a dedicated 2 bedroom. The unit was clean and beautiful, a few bumps and scratches here and there but nothing big. We did not have much trouble with the A/C, just the usual getting it right and not letting DH freeze us out! The water pressure was crappy, but it was not much better at the other hotels we stayed at. At home we have extreme water pressure, so nothing else compares for us. We had a great view of SE, and could easily see the fireworks looking to the right on our balcony. The entire resort was beautiful, and the staff was great. We could hear some road noise every a.m., but we have quite a bit of road noise at home so it did not bother us much. The kids loved SAB, so we will stay at BCV again, our home resort, on our next trip, probably Summer '05. EPCOT was not extremely crowded on Monday, and AK was manageable on Wednesday, but the MK was very crowded on Tuesday. There seemed to be a million strollers and wheelchairs...total gridlock!!!! Still, with fastpass we were able to do about everything we wanted to do. Overall, it was a great trip but WAY TOO SHORT! Any questions just ask.....Lacee

We also have a dedicated 2 bedroom @ BCV reserved for July.

1) Did you have 2 queens beds in the second bedroom or one bed and a sofa bed?

2) I thought I recalled that the fourth floor was all of the smoking rooms, can you confirm?

SSRex, only a certain section of the 4th floor rooms at BCV are smoking. (I know which section, I just don't know how to describe it) The CM who checked us in last Sept showed us. We stayed in a non-smoking studio on the 4th floor that trip.

The smoking rooms are in the back section that juts out towards the road and there are a few on the main hallway at the end of that section.

Rex, we requested and got a non smoking room. I had also requested 2 queen beds in the second bedroom and got that too. I had asked for 4th or 5th floor as I thought the view would be better and the road less easily heard. I wonder how many smoking rooms there are. It seems in restaurants we are always having to wait for non smoking tables when smoking ones are sitting empty. It was nice that Florida has the clean air act now, wish Illinois would do the same. I did request non-smoking and they seemed to have confirmed it to be a 2 queens beds in the second bedroom villa at the time I called, but since there are only 25 of those @ BCV, I did not think I could or should request certain location also. Non-Handicapped.

Rex...I didn't request a certain view either, we just got lucky I guess. I agree, the other things are more important and I was afraid to get too terribly specific. My oldest DDs, 11 and 12, slept in the second bedroom. My DS 8 slept on the foldout in the living room and had no complaints. My youngest DD 6 was kind of a floater, but most nights she ended up with her brother, much to his displeasure. He would say "move her out of here as soon as she falls asleep!" but then they would both be snoring as soon as their heads hit the pillow LOL!!! DH set the timers on all the t.v.s every night and we all fell asleep to the Disney Channel!!!!!

Did #452 have a single large balcony (I ask for info since we had #252 which had a large single balcony across the dedicated 2BR unit)

Yes jaysue....we did have one large balcony with a couple of chairs and a table. We checked in on Sunday evening after spending the day with family in Winter Park. We stopped at Publix and got some groceries, so we had sandwiches in the room for dinner and got unpacked. At 9 we all went out on the balcony and watched Illuminations, many other guests were doing the same thing. It was great!
