We had 2 two-bedroom units at the BCV Oct. 17-21. We checked in about 10 a.m. and our rooms were ready about 1:30 p.m. Our ressie was for dedicated 2-bedrooms with 2 queens, and we requested non-smoking, higher floor and near each other. All our requests were met: we were in 341 and 342 (across the hall from each other). Unit 341 overlooks a landscaped/slightly wooded courtyard area and 342 was an Epcot view which we could kind of see through some trees. The road noise from 342 was annoying from the balcony but you couldn't hear anything with the door closed. You could see the higher fireworks from Illuminations. My family was in 341 and enjoyed the quieter balcony - if you looked to the left, you could see the Eiffel Tower. We were impressed with the spaciousness of the 2 bedroom units.

The rooms were in good shape - no parts missing! We did have a problem with the dryer door not staying shut. Called maintenance and it was repaired within an hour. Great service. We asked to have our trash and towel day one day earlier - no problem. The housekeeping staff was very gracious and loaded us up with towels!

At my request, the front desk delivered "Happy Birthday" balloons and cards to my parents and a friend who was staying next door. Very prompt service.

We loved the location of BCV and our units. We could slip out the back to Epcot, avoiding the lobby area and easily get to the bus stop as well.

There was some minor wear and tear we noted - nicks in the table and small spots on couch, dings on the wall corners - but nothing that made us feel we were not getting excellent value.

All in all, we loved the BCV and would stay here again in a heartbeat! I'd be glad to answer any questions if I can.

We were in a 2-bedroom lockoff almost directly underneath you about a week before your trip. We also found it to be an excellent value, and our suite was in fine shape.

We were above you in 441 from Oct 17th-23rd... I am so happy you didnt feel the need to mention the loud neighbors upstairs..... Sorry if we were loud... with the three littleones.... I tried!

I am about to post photos of our view... so look for the thread!

laurabearz - Wow! We didn't hear a thing. In fact we commented several times how quiet the units were! It was a wonderful stay - look forward to your thread!

Hi,

Glad you had a good time!! Thanks for sharing!

Anyone notice the trend towards positive BCV posts lately?

Or is it just wishful thinking from a BCV owner?

I think there have always been many, many trips where people have been happy with their BCV stays. They just didn't feel the need to post reports where everything was as good as they expected it to be.

Possibly now people are realizing that posting a good report is as helpful as posting a bad one? In any event, it's good to get all the information regardless of the observations.

Thanks for the report! :)

I think it's tough to really read anything into the posts that are made. Fact is the DIS members are only a tiny portion of those who stay at DVC resorts, and even then you never know what will drive a member to post or not post their experiences.

Fact is a resort could have a 99.9% satisfaction level, but if you happen to fall into that .1% and get a really crappy room, it WILL impact your stay and overall impression of the resort.

The things that tend to worry me personally are items that impact more than one guest: poor CMs, poor resort management as a whole (there was a post recently about scheduled resort-wide power outages in the middle of the night)...things like that. Those types of items are indicative of a management philosophy that may need fine tuning as opposed to a single room that happened to be in poor condition.

That said, I do think that BCV and VWL have the biggest housekeeping challenge due to small size and high occupancy levels. But any speculation as to how many guests are impacted and/or how severely they are impacted is purely speculation.

Hey minniesota! Hi neighbor! Well hopefully anyway. I am in the northern suburbs of the Twin Cities. Are you close?

Anyhow, can you comment on whether your 2 BR had the 2 queens in the second bedroom? I am sure lisa will be ny shortly to ask anyway.:)

Oops! Just re-read your post and answered my own question. Sorry!

Seems like most of DVC/Minnesota members were there last week for MEA! We had a great time too!

zulaya - Hi! We're in the southern burbs but always seem to be heading north! We were really happy to get two units across the hall from each other, both with the 2 queen set-up. Great accommodations!

As a side note, our overall experience here was excellent. The check-in CMs (I got an "ears-in-training" rookie and his trainer) were friendly and efficient. ANd while they couldn't release our room numbers to us at check-in, since they weren't ready, they gave us lots of hints about where they were. In fact, my sis and I had it figured out before we got our keys. The front desk was friendly and responsive every time I called and all the CMs we encountered were great.

As far as the bus situation, there was a cast member with a clipboard at the bus stop keeping track of numbers of riders to which parks. And on the Halloween party night, our bus only took BC and YC guests there and back. We did stop at the S/D, and YC on our way back from Animal Kingdom but that was the only time we did the resort tour.

Whew! I really try and keep the kids under control, but some nights, like after MNSSHP where they ate pretty much all their candy, I was very concerned about the neighbors.

I mastered yelling at the kids in a whisper! LOL

Hi I have a question about the rehab on the Pool , has it started ? I will be there starting 11/1 Thanks Michelle
