Just back from Aulani and GCV, Have now stayed at all 11 Resorts!

What? Nothing to do on O'ahu? (shaking head...) I've been here nearly 5 yrs and still haven't done everything!

I wrote a long reply about my trips to Hawaii and specifically to Oahu that were deleted.

So I guess I'll keep it short and sweet. Oahu has many unique cultural sites and is the most populous island. If you want to know Hawaiian culture Oahu is a great starting place with multiple museums and other cultural activities.

I can't believe someone traveled all that way (I'm from the east coast of the US) to say it was dirty and boring.

I don't think the OP researched her trip enough or maybe museums just aren't her thing. (Or beaches or fine dining, etc.)

What two fabulous places..Aulani and Villas at Grand Californian! WOW!

We've been to Grand Californian Resort summer of 2009 on what was known then as Developer Points(Matching points for points purchased on contract)..
"Splurged for 4 nights" two connecting standard rooms! WE LOVED IT AND HAD AN AWESOME VACATION!

HEADED TO AULANI SEPT/OCT 2013 TO CELEBRATE OUR 30TH ANNIVERSARY, CHILDLESS! CAN'T WAIT!

Looking forward over the next two years to reading more about Aulani and seeing some awesome pics!

Congrats on all DVC resorts. We've been lucky enough to do 6 so far in three states, Aulani being our favorite, then AKL, then BLT, then. We first bought at SSR, but it seems pale in comparison now that we've done others.

For the other poster who commented on "nothing to do on Oahu"....wow. The problem is actually a lack of time to do everything. Yes, there is traffic, because Oahu is where most of the population of HI lives, and traffic sucks because most people all take the same few routes in and out each day along the coastline near Honolulu.
