Just back from our four night cruise on the Wonder. It was our first experience at cruising. Warm, balmy breezes, calm seas. Couldn't have asked for a smoother sailing.

Will be glad to answer any questions.

Hi!! Welcome back! Glad to hear you had a smooth sailing. Please tell us what you guys did on ship and off ship. What cat and deck did you guys have? Did you like your location? Since this is your first time, any tips for a first timer like me. Thanks in advance.

We had stateroom 6044; deck 6. We had four people and did feel at times we were tripping over each other but having the balcony was worth every extra cent. The location was great but do take the stairs whenever you can as the elevators are slow.

We have vacationed at Atlantis several times so only went off the ship for a couple hours to do some shopping. Be sure to have your photo id and room card whenever you do get off the ship (even castaway cay).

Walk a bit further down the family beach on castaway cay - much quieter. If you plan to snorkel, bring your own equipment and do it before 11 AM.

Deck 4 has great lounge chairs. Not very busy especially the first couple days so take advantage.

The shows are terrific - don't miss them.

The number one thing I'd do differently - not be so tired when we boarded! We had done four days at the parks prior to the cruise so we were exhausted by the time we got on board and hardly made it to any evening activities.

Have a wonderful time.

Thank you for sharing your experience. I am planning to do MK and Epcot (staying at CSR) when we get back from the Cruise. We are coming all the way from Michigan and it just wouldn't seem right to skip MK and Epcot while we're in Orlando already!

I am glad you had a good time. There is a new excursion offered at Nassau called Bleackbeard's Cay Beach & Stingray Adv. Did you speak to anyone you went on this? Thanks for the info.

No, sorry. Didn't see any information about it or hear about it from any one.

Did you book any excursions prior to leaving on your cruise? How do those work and when do you pay for them?

Ooo, can if you don't mind, can you let me know how the tipping went? Do you just give out tips on your last day there?

:wave2:

We did not do any excursions as we have vacationed in Nassau several times so there was nothing we wanted to do. You can book through DCL prior to your cruise. Some are quite popular (like dolphin encounter) so would be wise to book prior to sailing for those "must do" excursions.

Envelopes for tipping are left in your stateroom the last full day of your cruise. You can put in cash or charge tips to your shipboard account and put in the slips from guest services.

We hand delivered the tips to the server, assistant server and head server the last night at sea as we were eating in Palo on that night so just stopped into the dining room before our Palo reservation. Generally tips are handed out the last night of your cruise but you could also give them out at breakfast the next morning but since we had early dinner seating, we knew we wouldn't get up for the 6:45 AM seating.

We left our stateroom host's tip on the pillow the day we disembarked with a thank you note but you can leave that for him the last night of the cruise, too.

So, what is life like after a Disney cruise? Are you on the DIS boards as much? Are you planning for your next Disney vacation? I think it's hard after such a great trip and all the planning, it's kind of sad. Then your excited to see all your pictures, videos, and doing your Disney scrapbook. Glad you had a great time.

:wave:Sounds like you had a wonderful time! Questions re: your verandah? Did you use it much, if so what times did you use it? Did you encounter any smoking from either of your neighbors from their verandahs?

I'm glad King Arthur is still playing, I wanna see that soo bad... we leave on the 19th, so hoping it's still on there...

anyone know how 'often' Disney changes the movies???
