We just flew back in early this afternoon, and I can't believe the whole trip is over so fast!!! Disney time just passes so much faster than regular time!!
Well, here are some specifics:
The Room:
We were booked for a standard room, and were placed in room 3092, which overlooks the quiet pool. It was a very nice view, with a daybed, with the beds on the left side of the room. We were told that the resort was sold out, and there was also a convention going on, so no upgrades were available for us. Although our room was considered standard view, the next door room 3094 is waterview, but we also had a very nice view of the quiet pool.
The Weather:
In all the years we have been going to WDW for the 4th of July, this was the wettest. Out of 9 days, we didn't have any rain for 3 days, rain only from 4-6pm for 3 days, and rain from 1-7pm for 3 days. It really only interupted our afternoon pool plans on 3 days, but not our park touring in the mornings or evenings. After the rains, the evenings cooled off quite nicely, although it was still somewhat humid.
The Security:
I must say I felt VERY safe at WDW, so anyone who is hesitating on going, please go!! You need a photo ID to check into the resorts, and all bags are checked each and every time and park you enter. MK checks were especially thorough. I saw helicopters and small planes around all the major icons, (castle, Epcot ball, etc.) and fighter jets in the skies overhead everyday. There are things being done that most are not aware of. Disney is definetly protecting it's investment.
SAB:
Wristbands are issued to all guest who present a valid resort card with the YC/BC/BCV ID number on it. CM's also walk around the pool checking for guests without the bands, and ask them to produce a card in order to stay. While it was crowded later in the week, there were always lounge chairs available. They created more areas to put chairs on by moving the garden/flower area back a bit. This year I did notice people brought some of their own flotation devices without any trouble.
Other DisMembers:
Again, I don't know where you all were! I only saw Towncrier on line at Test Track once. I looked all over for green ribbons, but no one else did I see!!!!
I will post later about our dining reviews, our transportation experience and our pin trading/hunting! Any questions, just ask!!
