We just came back from our 6th straight annual July trip at BWV and I'm still impressed. We had room 2017 which was directly above the Big River Grill.
By far, the best room location to date (we have been at standard rooms and 5th floor bw view rooms). Noise wasn't a problem. The room was in pretty good shape. Surprisingly, the room was ready at noon (it was a 1 bedroom). I see the pull out couch is new and seemed a lot more comfortable. Nice job!! The pool was in good shape and we used the community hall more this trip (kids getting older). We also ate for the first time at the Flying Fish which was excellent. I did notice the BW to be more crowded at night then previous years. I think the place is really becoming a non-park destination for many. On July 4th, we went to the fireworks at EPCOT and the BW was packed until late into the night. It was a real party, it felt like new years eve from our balcony (Especially since we took a chance eariler that day and saw the Shuttle lift off 20 miles from the cape, awesome)

Any questions, let me know.
After 10 years, the BWV is still a great 2nd home !!!

I'm glad you had a great time. I'm looking forward to our first stay at BWV, boardwalk view. It's only for one night before I start a conference at the Dolphin. I'm sure I'll miss our DVC for the rest of the week.

Glad you had a great trip. We will be staying across the lake at BCV in a few weeks after a 3 day jaunt on the Wonder.

Glad you had a great trip, it's hard not to have a great trip at BWV.

Thanks for the report. I have a question.

When you say the sleeper sofa seemed new, what did you mean? We'll be there next month and need to put 4 teens on 3 sleepers. Would you say they're like the SSR sleepers? (I haven't seen them, just heard that the bed pulls out -- kinda like a drawer. :confused3 )

Thanks.

Kelley,
In all the years we have stayed in a 1 bedroom villa I have seen the sleeper sofa that you took the cushions off and then opened to a bed. This time the sleeper sofa was different since there was a black strap you pulled and the cushions remained attached to the unit as it opened. Even though I don't sleep on it, my two kids (10 & 6) do, I laid on it and the mattress seemed more comfortable. I have not seen the SSR beds but this did not pull out like a draw. Could two teens sleep on it, I would cetainly say yes. Hope that helps.

Glad you had an awesome trip! Can't wait for our BW View in early August!

Question for you though...... During my last 2 BW view trips I had 4th floor accomodations, which were incredible!!! Was the 2nd floor an issue being so close to BW? Like noise, or just generally feeling of lack of privacy?

I thought I'd throw my 2 cents in since we had a 2nd floor BW view room this past May.

It was actually fun being right above the BW. The guy who played the piano/bicycle would wave to us as he peddled past our balcony, as did a lot of the people strolling by or riding surrey bikes. We were across from the hoop toss area and we had fun watching people play the games and critiquing their technique (especially on the lobster pot game which was very popular during our stay). We felt we were part of the action on the BW even when we were on our balcony. The noise wasn't bad at all, but this was in May when WDW isn't as busy as it is at other times of the year. The BW is very quiet from 11pm on, except when Jellyrolls lets out at 2am but we were only bothered by that one night of our stay.

One downside is that we had a solid wall at the front of the balcony rather than a railing. So to see what was going on on the BW, we had to stand up. On the other hand, our balcony was at least twice as deep as the ones on the higher floors, so we carried the table out there every morning and had breakfast on the balcony, with a lovely view of YC/BC and Spaceship Earth! When we were having our breakfast, the solid balcony wall gave us some extra privacy.

We could see both the Epcot and the MK fireworks from our balcony. I expect the view would be better from higher floors, but we were happy with what we could see.

I would like to experience being on a higher floor to see how it compares but if I ended up on the second floor again, that would be fine with me.

I agree w/ Lisa 100%.

Noise wasn't a real a problem. If there was any, the positives absolutely outweighed any negative.

Glad you had a great trip! Someday I would love to try a Boardwalk view - sounds like fun!

Glad you had a good trip! We also had the BW view this past June, on the 4th floor, and saw all the fireworks from Epcot and MK! It was a great view, and well worth the pts. at least every once in a while!!

Gotta love the BW!!

We stayed in a 1-br at BWV last week, and had the new sofabed. It's awesome, compared to the old ones! I slept on it one night (don't ask!), and it was very comfortable. It's very easy to open up, and it opens up perfectly flat. I say that because, with the old one, I always thought the head part looked higher than the feet, but not with this one. I hope all the villas have this new bed.
