Just Back from an amazing 1st time stay at OKW

These six photos are fantastic!! I have a BFA degree from Mass Art and I was a High School Art and Photography teacher as well as a Boston Red Sox photographer. Your husband has a gift for composing great landscape photos!

Wenny-Thank you! I hope you enjoy OKW as much as we did!

Marleen2- No tripod! I think he balanced the camera on something- like a chair or a post. I will ask him though (asked- it was a wooden pole), and I will ask about the shutter speed too (asked- he thinks it was 20 sec- whatever that means lol). I am so happy that you enjoy the pictures!

Really? He didn't use a tripod to take these pics? Wow, that's amazing. Surely with a 20 sec shutter speed... I love these "in the dark" pictures, sometimes I think of taking my DSLR as well, but the thought of needing a tripod anyway to take beautiful shots like these, just puts me off. Maybe I should try anyway, even without the tripod...

Marleen :flower3:

all pics are pre-editing. DH may be back to repost if he decides to edit any of them

IMHO these photos don't need editing. They are absolutely gorgeous, and are taking me right back to wonderful OKW :cloud9: Thank you to you and your DH. :goodvibes

Candy_Orlando- WOW! Thanks. I sent him your comments and he is already holding them against me lol. “See babe, I have a gift…..” I am sure he will come home and convince me that he absolutely needs a tripod, and a new lens, flash, remote, etc….. Honestly he hasn’t even had the camera a year, and this was the first trip he was able to play around with the settings and all.

Marleen- He said “it was on a solid wooden pole, no wind, I used the timer shutter release so I would not be touching the camera at any time during the exposure. acted just like a tripod; kinda tough to move the giant wooden pole around
though!”

Cajun- Thanks

Becky- Thank you!!

We're new OKW believers too. We recently bought BLT points and had to stay at OKW half the trip due to limited availability at BLT. My wife was furious at me because she didn't want to stay somewhere with the name "old" in it. (She's really not snobby!)

After our stay at both OKW and BLT, she declared she liked OKW better! I couldn't believe it. I told her I wished she had figured that out before we bought BLT as OKW was much cheaper! :lmao:

Anyhow, I love the convenience of BLT, so no harm, no foul! :)

Fantastic pictures. We are so looking forward to our stay this summer for DS's grad trip.

I love the comparison pictures, I really like the updated bedroom looks. Kind of miss the weathered boards in the master bath. Not sure how I feel about the living room/kitchen.
It will be great to see it in person.

Okay, thanks. Too bad those wooden poles aren't around everywhere ;)

We'll be there in 2 1/2 weeks. Your pictures have me so excited. This will be our 2nd OKW stay. Our 1st we did not take advantage of any resort activities, but this time we will make it a point to. It sounds like they offer a lot at the community hall for kids. I had no idea. Thanks!
