Just Back from an amazing 1st time stay at OKW

Our amazing Aunt used her points to gift us with a 2 bedroom Villa for 10 days at OKW (we were originally staying at Pop)

Someone on the other thread said to me- once you stay DVC you never turn back and?

They were totally right. We LOVED OKW. We Love the entire DVC experience. I cannot wait to post more about our stay, and show pictures of our amazing resort.

We were pixie dusted big time and received all that we requested as far as our villa and then some. We were given room 6231- building 62 (right next to HH), 3rd floor right off the elevator, dedicated 2 bedroom, renovated, water and golf course green views, and awesome Epcot firework views- ahhhhh, how I wish I was there right now!

Honestly- if we had the cash laying around we would have lol! We are looking into our options regarding purchasing- direct from disney or resale, etc and figuring out how we can quickly save LOTS of money

Hi Allison, I sure remember reading your other post not long ago. I can't believe it, you are back already. Great to hear that you LOVED OKW! And of course I am not surprised. I've been there several times and still love it. That open green / water view is my favorite.

I am tempted to try AKV next time, though.

Pretty pictures! So glad you had a wonderful trip! We stayed at OKW last Sept and also absolutely loved it! In fact we are waiting through ROFR for an OKW add on after realizing we want to stay there many more times over the years

Did you take the ferry to DTD? Our most relaxing day was spending the morning at DTD and the afternoon at the pool. OKW is a great resort, we had a blast and can't wait to return again!

We stayed at OKW for the first time in April 2010. We loved it so much that we bought 250 points resale (SSR). We stayed 1 night SSR, 6 nights OKW, and 2 day at VWL in January 2011 (we had to move around because of late planning). We have a studio trip planned for OKW in May (just two of us) and then 10 more days in late December 2010 and early January 2011. We spent one night at All Star Movies in April 2010, and we loved OKW so much that we bought DVC. It has been worth it for us, and we love the 2BR villas at OKW.

Glad that you had a great trip, and good luck with your DVC decision. We were very happy with buying resale and found it easy.

I could tell that was building 62 from your pics. We stayed in 6212 (the 2 br on the 1st floor) in May, 2010 and loved it. The proximity to HH and bus stops, the view, everything was great. Glad you had a great time. I'm looking forward to more pics and your TR.

Glad you had a great time! OKW has been our home resort since 93 and we love it. Seeing your pictures makes me wish we were there now. Going to miss it this year staying at BWV this spring and BLT this summer.

Thank you! DH uses a Nikon D90 with a zoom lens (the kit lens) and also has a prime lens (50mm)

ercrbc- YES! We took the ferry to DTD- It was easy peasy with the kids. One thing I didn't know was that the ferry takes you to the Pleasure Island side (our ferry from POR last trip went straight to Marketplace). We just hopped off the OKW ferry and then walked straight onto the water taxi to the Marketplace side since it was pouring rain and we didn't feel like getting the kids soaking wet.

We love OKW, the rooms are bigger, the decks are bigger, the atmosphere is laid back, its just a relaxing place to be. The first time we stayed at OKW was in building 23 directly across the pond from 62, that area is a great location due to its proximity to the HH
