Hello, Everyone.

My family and I have just returned from a 7 night stay at the ASMu resort. We checked out on June 30. We were in rooms 7521 and 7522, building 7 in the Broadway building.

I have to say... I was a bit nervous about staying there because we had never stayed at this value resort before and I was worried when I had read that it did not seem to have as many families...children... that it tended to have more couples or adults. I can honestly say... there were a ton of teenagers and children staying at the resort, so the teens and young adults in our group fit right in.

I was pleasantly surprised with this resort! It was immaculately clean. Our rooms were newly remodeled so I am sure that helped, but our mousekeeper did a great job also. She left us notes and towel hearts, mickey heads and ducks so I believe she did our rooms most of our stay. We did have a problem with a terrible smoke smell in my DSs room. The front desk sent up room spray and used an "oxidizer" (I believe that is what it was called). We had to be out of the room for two hours for them to do that but it did not really help. My DS has problems with asthma so I was hoping to get as much of the smell out as possible. It was "livable" so we kept the room. We bought febreeze and sprayed that also. I made sure to let the front desk know immediately that the room smelled of smoke and had them mark it on my room notes so that they did not think we had anything to do with it.

The grounds were beautiful. There is absolutely much more greenery there than there are at the other values. I loved the fountain and the small sitting areas. The cast members were always scrubbing the sides of the pools, the concrete, emptying trash or something. They were busy little bees.

As far as the smokers...(my DH happens to be one), for the most part... they stayed in the designated smoking areas. DH did most of his smoking in the parking lot, but occasionally used the designated smoking areas that were close by. He is a very polite smoker. He is used to living with a non-smoking wife who hates the smell and DS with asthma and DD who hates smoke also.

I am happy to report... we had a pleasant stay at ASMu and I will not hesitate to recommend this resort to others.

One more thing... the evening activities at the main pool were pretty neat. They showed movies poolside every evening at 9:00 and they had may activities led by cast members before the movies began. The kids there had a great time. I loved the atmosphere and the ambiance of this resort!!!

I wish I were still there!!

We just came back on Saturday as well. I miss it so much! We stayed in the Suites Calyso building 10.

The pool was great. The kids loved the evening movie that played near the guitar pool.

Everything was super clean- I agree they were always cleaning something!!

I'm always glad to hear that someone had a great time.

I am curious as to why you have the opinion that the value resorts didn't have kids/families. The majority of guests are families. It is geared toward the budget conscience and that is usually those with kids. I tend to think there are more kids/families there than at any other WDW resort.

OH, how were the suites. We are staying there next May and there will be 3 adults and 3 children. On of the children will be in a pack-n-play, but one of the adults will be sleeping on the sleeper sofa. Did you try them out? Do you know if they were comfortable or not.

Sorry, didn't mean to take over the thread, just curious. :)

I was not thinking that the value resorts did not have kids/families. We have stayed at all of the values except the ASMu. I had just read on different posts that the ASMu resort was the quietest of all of the values. That they tended to have more couples and adults. As I mentioned... I really did not notice a difference as far as children/teens/adults at this resort than at any of the other values.

We loved it!!

The movies sound cool, is it a big screen, similar to what the Poly has done, if you had heard mention of that. We stayed at ASMovies years ago and I don't recall movies, however, we are considering the family suites at AS-Music. We want to stay ten nights for our ten year anniversary and I don't know if I can swing deluxe for ten nights!

I am so glad you had a nice time. This was the hotel I was recommending to my brother and his family. I also never knew about the poolside movies... Thats great!!! :) I will make sure I make it a point to tell him that as well!
Thanks for your post! :goodvibes

I am not sure if the other values do the movies or not. The screen was a pretty nice size. I would say maybe 6' x 6'. I am not really sure. It was big enough for everyone to see from the pool. I will see if I can find a

The other activies were kind of neat also. I saw them having hula-hoop contests, scavenger hunts and karaoke.

I am pretty "sad" about being back already. Now, I need to start planning for the 2010 trip for my daughter's high school graduation. Sounds kind of crazy doesn't it??
