We returned home yesterday after 8 nights. We spent the first 4 nights at AKV concierge and then 4 nights at BWV in a Boardwalk View Studio.
First of all - AKV concierge was wonderful! We LOVED it. We would spend half days at the park, then the rest of the day at the resort. Food was awesome. The lounge was just lovely place to hang out. We ate "dinner' there every night. Snacks were plentiful all day long. I can't wait to try and stay there again.
BWV has always been a favorite for us... while we had a great time, it was not up to par this trip. Maybe concierge spoiled us... but we did not get the service we expected. Our room was not ready until almost 5pm. We called at 2:30pm and were told "housekeeping is in your room now. It will be ready in 30 minutes" - well, that went on for 2.5 hours. Frustrating.
When we checked in at BWV - I was told we got all of our requests - which was nice - WAY down the hallway and high floor. Well - when we finally got our room - we got 2nd floor... so - something must have happened with our room - so they finally gave us a different one (after the official check in time and after 5 different calls and 2 stops at the front desk).
Then, the floor in our room was completely soaked by the kitchenette. We called and were told someone would be there shortly. We told them we had dinner reservations - so they said they would send someone while we were away. Well - at 9pm, floor was still soaked. We called again, and were told "We have no note of any problems - we will send someone up now." Therefore, we had maintenance people in our room until 10pm. Frustrating.
Morning on day 2 at BWV, I grabbed my work briefcase that I set behind the small table to head down the hall to get some work done while my family slept. Guess what? Floor completely soaked back there as well - so my brief case and papers were all wet. I went to the front desk - told the person, had her feel my bag. She agreed it was very wet. Got an "we are sorry. We will send someone to fix it while you are at the park". Went to the park about 9am, came back around 1pm - guess what? Still soaking wet. Call to front desk "We have no note of that". So - we had a work crew in our room for about an hour again while I was trying to nap.
Final issue - internet connection never worked properly. I had to call tech support every time to get a special access code to gain access. No answers as to why...
I guess my frustration was that we just did not feel we got the service we deserved. We were patient and asked nicely. We did not demand anything "extra" - but never got an apology. Only got frustration and wasted time on our 4 night stay there.
Other than that, nice trip. Parks were not crowded. Road BTTMRR 6 times in a row one evening without any waits and could have gone more. However, by Friday, it appeared the park crowds doubled in size. I think it was the MLK weekend affect. By Friday, we were just hanging in Epcot and not trying to do any rides, so not an issue for us.
The weather was cool - wore jeans and a fleece from Monday to Saturday. But, the pools were nice and warm, so we used those most days.
