Just back from a quick weekend trip to both parks- a few highlights/observations...

Finally broke 1,000,000 on BLAB! Got the picture to prove it!

Got the person in the SM control room to wave on two seperate occasions- no easy task!

Got to love the FastPass system, at one point we held 14 different fast passes... How sweet it was walking one to rides over the last few hours of the day!

We were amazed just how empty DCA, and to an extent DL seemed at times. ToT was walk-on wait time almost every time we checked on it.. Splash mountain was fairly empty, BTMRR was usually pretty calm as well. People were still waiting for Nemo much longer than I would ever consider.

Any questions, let me know...

I am so envious and can't wait for my trip. Sounds like you had fun. I've never noticed the control room on SM, or maybe I have but didn't pay attention so where is it?

once you're loaded in your rocket, it's directly in front of you and up. There is a window where you can see the CM in the control room. Usually you can wave and wave and wave, blow kisses, etc. and they don't give any reaction back. it's a moral victory to get them to wave back!

Do I get bonus points?

We got stuck on Thunder Mountain and they took us down inside to get off. I asked the CM if I was alowed to take a picture and he said, "No, but once i turn my back i will never know if you took one." I didn't take the picture. Didn't want him to get in trouble.

What's wrong with the girl on the left? She almost looks like she would have a robot body. Or like that toy in toystory that was a dolls head on top but that metal spider thing for the body.

Only hit the first one twice I think, didn't hit the second one at all.... it was all triangles for me!

OK, if you are offering info, I'll gladly take you up on the offer. Let's start with: What are the best ways to get a high score on BLAB? I understand that triangles are the highest points (how high?), but are there other things that give you high points?

I know many of the strategies for Buzz at WDW, but don't know much about BLAB.

In WDW Florida, you can only hold 1 Fast Pass at a time.
It gives you a time when you are allowed to get another Fast Pass
and it is usually when your current Fast Pass time is due.
In Disneyland, are you allowed to collect Fast Passes anytime you want?

You can get a new fast pass after 2 hours, or when your fast pass window starts, which ever is sooner. Also the 2 parks are not connected, and at least the Roger Rabbit ride in DL and the Rapids in DCA are not connected, so you can have 4 if 2 of those are the non connected ones.

Welcome to DL board jmDisney!

I noticed you just posted another question about restaurants. Since you are a WDW vet, you must read & print the following primer (by HydroGuy). Also within this link are a couple of other links that are essential reading (the "How FP work" thread & the "How to use FP on a busy day" thread.)

DL is NOT exactly like WDW & the link will reveal some eye-opening tips & info.

Have fun. :thumbsup2

Knowing how FP works at DL & DCA allows one to ride 8-12 rides & have 4-7 FPs in your pocket prior to taking your afternoon break. Fast Passes are best collected early and often.

Wow, at a glance, that should be a huge help. I will take my time & sort
through it all. Thanks so much!

You bet. HydroGuy did a good job of putting all the info one might need in a nice organized thread.

So you don't have to search for it....go ahead and print this HydroGuy link out too. "Getting the Most Out of FP during High Season". It's eye opening & it shows how FP is your friend. :thumbsup2

You are misinformed about FP at WDW. You can hold multiple FPs at WDW as well as DLR. What you cannot do is obtain multiple FPs at the same time. The pickup times have to be staggered. The only exceptions are the disconnected FP rides at DLR (GRR at DCA and RR at DL).

For example,

1. Get a Splash Mtn FP at 10AM on a hot day with a 1-2PM return window. In such a case, you can get your next FP 2 hours later (at Noon).

2. Get BTMRR at Noon with a window of say 12:45-1:45PM. Next FP pick would be 12:45PM.

3. At 12:45PM get a Space Mtn FP.

Now you have three FPs in hand and have not used any yet. And this has not even gotten into using FP after their windows whcih is accepted at both WDW and DLR.
