We got back on Satruday night from a week @ BWV. We spent 4 nights in a 2 BR, with our family & my Mom & brother, then the rest of the week in a 1 br. actually same room we just locked off the studio. That in itself was no easy task with the front desk. It took as about 2 hours to redo our room keys & chg. card.

Anyway, My mom & brother didn't understand all the Disney hype so we chose BWV for the view, proximity to Epc. and BW entertainment. We had great views of both Epc. & MK fireworks. They were both impressed by the resort and in fact my mom & her sisters are already planning a trip for next year :) .

We took our 3 kids, DS9, DD6 & DD1 y/o. We knew the oldest would have a great time since they've been several times, but were worried about the 14 mo. old. She did great, loved the characters - except Mr. Incredible. She slept great in the Pack N Play which was our biggest worry. I made good use of the baby care centers for a little down time & cool down. The staff was always very friendly and the center was always nice & clean.

The busses appeared to be running very good, even though we always seemed to just miss one - that's just our bad luck.

It rained pretty heavy one night (Tuesday maybe) and World Showcase was almost a ghost town. It didn't stop us, we just put on our ponchos and enjoyed it.

Dh & DS9 & DD6 LOVED, LOVED, LOVED Expedition Everest, I think they rode it 10 or 12 times, we had to make a special trip back on our last day for them to ride it again.

I did have a couple of complaints regarding the resort and I e-mailed them yesterday. One, we were in room 4009 a 1 BR, the shower was not clean, the grout & caulk had black mildew on it. The caulk was also coming away from the tile, it just didn't look nice at all. I was going to call to get someone up there to clean it while we were there but I figured all they would do was spray Tilex and I didn't want to have to smell it. It was only on the walls, not the floor so we dealt with it.

Another complaint, one night my Mom & brother took our 2 older kids out on the Boardwalk. I had put our 14 mo. old to bed in the bedroom. The lights were out & we were on the balcony. I noticed a light come on inside & assumed the kids were back. DH went inside to find a man in our bathroom. This scared us both to death (considering DD was sleeping in the bedroom), he was from maintenance, said he had knocked and thought no one was in. There was a leak in the shower and he was fixing it. I feel like they should have called to let us know someone was coming. This really scared us and needless to say we used the additional lock the rest of the week.

There was lots, lots, lots of love in the air, swarms of love even. Yes the LoveBugs were awful!!! I'll just remember that for future trips and not to drive my car because cars were covered!!! YUCK!!!

The parks were not too crowded but it was hot. I noticed more than usual, people riding the motorized wheel chairs (are they ECVs?). Most (but not all) were very rude, drove them to fast and for the most part thought they owned the "road". I am sure I'm going to get flamed for this BUT I don't think many of them should need one. One man drove his off the curb @ MK not slowing down, ran over the side & ankle of DS9 foot, knocked him down and didn't even look back, just kept going. Another one yelled @ DD6, when she ran in front of her to throw something in the trash can @ Epc. I realize that DD should have watched where she was going but at least she didn't throw her trash on the ground. If I had yelled @ every kid that walked in front of me @ WDW, I would have lost my voice. I just found that many of the people were very rude.

We were able to get ADR at all the restaurants we wanted and even walked right up to Crystal Palace one day (w/out ADR) and only waited for 15 min. The food was good everywhere we ate but we found some of the wait staff to be less than efficient. There were times we were never offered refills on drinks and never saw the waitress to even ask for one - until the bill came. I don't know if this was due to the free dining and they didn't care because they were getting their tip regardless, but we weren't dining for free, expected better and tipped accordingly. This was not the case at all the restaurants but did notice it at a few.

I feel like a have a lot of negative things to report but we did have a great time. These were just a few incidences and I did e-mail WDW guest communications to let them know. It did take away from some of the magic. I realize that there is nothing they can do regarding the ECV's if people are willing to pay for them but maybe they could inform them not to drive to fast and watch where they are going.

SSR is our home resort but we consider BWV our home. We love it there and are a little dissappointed because we can't stay there next year. We had to borrow some points for my mom & brother for this trip so next year we will be staying @ OKW for fewer pts. I'm starting to worry about that already because we have been spoiled the last 2 years with those awesome BW views. I even tried to talk Dh into adding on pts. but he said "no" :guilty: .

Thanks so much for the report! I'll be at the BW in just about 22 days and I'm really looking forward to it. This will be a "girls only" trip to the F&W and may even be the beginning of a tradition!!! :thumbsup2

Love bugs come twice a year in Florida - May and September - took this off of a website verbatim "Usually May is not as big an emergence. We don't have as many Love Bugs coming out in May as we do in September."
Not much WDW can do about love bugs.

Sorry about the mildew in the shower. We stayed a few weeks ago in 5011 and it was immaculate. Can't wait to go again at the end of November! We were booked at SSR and our BWV waitlist just came through!

Good report, glad you love our home BWV.

Thanks for the review, we are staying at BWV in Feb for the first time, can't wait.

We just got back tonight (Friday, 29th) from BWV's... We had swarms of Love Bugs in our room. I went down to the desk and complained and requested a room change but the next room was worse!!! They sent someone from mantinence to put additional weather stripping on the doors to the balconys and this seemed to work better... I had a hard time with the bugs at certain times of the day... I don't think we'll be going back in Sept again.
As for the mold in the bathrooms... I've got to find out how often we're due room cleaning but we were there for one full week and got no service. The bathroom and the shower area was spotless but as the week wore on, I noticed some areas that black areas were showing up in the grout of the shower.

We received trash & towel service on Tuesday (we were there Sat. to Sat). Our bathroom had black mold/mildew on them when we arrived. Everything else was spotless and I really looked because we had our 14 mo. old with us.
