Fabulous quick trip...kids were still out of school, so we decided to stay overnight. First time at the HoJo (thanks to the recommendations on this board), and it was great. Would definitely stay there again. I loved the fact that Mimi's was right next door. Too cold for this SoCal girl to swim, but there were people swimming...and looks great for summer!

We actually decided to start at California Adventure, and finally for the first time rode TSMM. What a GREAT ride! Definitely my newest favorite ride. We hit the Tritons Carosel, then took the kids into Bugs Land as well since we hadn't done that in a while. We then went and visited Lightning and Mater (good thing we did...Lightning wasn't in the parade!). Had lunch at Taste Pilots..yummy. We then went and visited Crush (a must-do for my son!), and both my daughter and son got to talk to Crush....awwww.....and then, again thanks to THIS BOARD, I finally went and saw Aladdian which I had never done before. WOW! Amazing.

We then walked over to Disney and hit up Fantasyland. After a few rides, the kids started petering out on us, so went on a quick Toy Story ride and they were done for the night...EARLY :-( . Oh well. Went to the hotel, ordered Mimis, and ate dinner in the hotel room. Kids were konked out a few minutes later. We stayed in Build #2 overlooking the pool..nice!

Day 2....we were there at opening...and I promised myself I would go directly to the Fairy Land...still had about a 20 minute wait (maybe 20 peeps ahead of us)...and, sadly, there was only one fairy and Tinkerbell. I was really disappointed. Previously, I kept putting it off because of the wait always being 40+ minutes. The good part was that we saw Buzz Lightyear through the "fairy weeds" so my DH and DS went over and finally my son got to meet Buzz Lightyear..which was the highlight of the trip. After, we decided to check Nemo's wait, and the ride was down...so we walked through and repeated some Fantasy rides, then went to Pirates, Pooh, Steamship ride, and lunch at the cafe next to Pirates. DH had a roast beef sandwich and I had a salad...kids had uncrustables. Although it was close to $40, the lunch was yummy! The park was getting crowded at this point, so we decided to go back to CA and ride TSMM again. We then went to Playhouse Disney (since there wasn't an Aladdain show that day), and watched the parade. I was a bit disappointed in the parade...it was the only one while we were there for 2 days, and it was still abbreviated...no Lightning, not all of the characters, etc.

At that point, the kids were done again...this was our first trip trying without a stroller. Although I loved the convenience, it pooped the kids out early. Since we were driving home that night and my son had preschool the next day, we decided to leave then since we saw just about everything that I had wanted to. As much as I love Fantasmic, it scares my little ones, so that wasn't an option.

Great weather both days...not terribly crowded until later in the afternoon.

Great trip...with our SoCal passes, we don't have many additional choices to go throughout the year...but this was a nice, quick trip for everyone.

How were the lines for TSMM? Have they calmed down at all?

I think TSMM is my new favorite ride, or at least in the top three. It is addictive and irresistible. I have also done a few things at DLR that I learned about from this board - seeing Aladdin and eating at Taste Pilots Grill were two of them - so coming to DISboards really broadened my scope of activities or things to look for, eat, take pictures of, etc.

So you decided against eating at Naples and getting a giant pizza for the whole family, or is that saved for another trip?

Glad you had a great time!:thumbsup2 :goodvibes

The first day we did TSMM right when CA opened, so our wait was maybe 15 minutes at most (took the kids a while to make it down there).

The second day we did TSMM around 2 or 3....the wait was only about 30 minutes. I think the board said 40, but it wasn't that long. I loved the fact that the line kept moving...for some reason, that makes the wait seem shorter to me!

Yeah, we didn't do Naples...since the kids pooped out on us, I knew it wouldn't be a good experience! And we had pizza the night before too! Maybe next time.

It was interesting...day 2 we decided on no stroller (my kids are 3 and 5)...it was so LIBERATING! LOL! That was probably the reason why they didn't make it long on day #2, but it was totally worth it!

Glad you went to see Aladdin. We missed our first family trip and made sure to see it this last time. We all thought it was really, really good - even DH who would normally never go to that kind of event. The theater itself is nice, which helps also, and it gives the body some much needed rest time!

Sounds like you had a great trip!

can you tell me where you saw lightening mcqueen and mater? I didn't know they were out to see!

thanks!

They're usually across from Soarin' - to the left of the little shop there (right before the bathrooms and smoking area). Unless they've moved?:confused3

There is always a lot of children around them.:)

Yup...that's where Lightning and Mater were. Right across from Taste Pilots/Soarin.

Thanks for letting us know where you saw Lightening and Mater...Sounds like you had a happy time!

Hey there Miss LuLuBelle!

I have a question for the Original Poster...:goodvibes

Did You walk to and from HoJo's?

Or did You take the A.R.T. shuttle to the park?:confused3

We didn't walk...we have parking with one of our passes, so we actually used our car. There were LOTS of people walking to HoJo's there, and honestly, it absolutely would be a do-able walk. The kids might have had a tough time leaving (just since they are 3 and 5), but it really isn't that far!

How long was parking taking you from when you got to the lot to getting to the courtyard where the tram drops you off?

The drive from the hotel was about 3-4 minutes to the parking garage. It was on the opposite side of where the hotel was. About 2 minutes to get into the parking garage. We were on the Mickey level each day, and luckily got near the elevators both times. I'd say it was about 5-10 minutes from there to when the tram dropped us off...the first day was longer because we had the stroller and needed to pack that...second day was just getting out of the car and going. We didn't have a wait at the tram - got on the first one that pulled up.
