I just got back from my 8 day trip. We stayed at POFQ and were on the dining plan.

First off, I only gained 4 pounds...which was amazing considering the amount of food consumed on the DP!!!

As far as lovebugs...we saw maybe 2 on our first day there and not one single one after that.

Weather was beautiful. Very hot and humid two of our days though.

The lines were quick moving, if there were any. We managed to go on TOT four times in a row with no wait.

MNSSHP was wonderful!

The food was incredible. However I was unhappy with CRT and Coral Reef. But Spirt of Aloha was amazing!!!

We loved our hotel. We requested two connecting rooms in building 5 and thats what we got. The check in wasn't too smooth. Hope you don't get "Chris" to check you in. I'm not sure he knows what he's doing...I asked for a manager, and she came right over and was able to clear things up.

Things were great all in all, any questions feel free to ask. I'm still unwinding from the trip and am sure I forgot a lot of things. AND I'm already planning our next one!!! :dance3:

good to hear that you enjoyed it. my gf and i are going in may. are there any buildings that you think would be better to stay than others?

Thanks for your report, I'm gald you had so much fun-----we leave for POFQ this sunday.......any descriptions of this Chris character???? :rolleyes1

Kevin75- I took the advice on this board and requested building 5. It's very close to everything. Although, the resort is so small that everything is relatively close to the bus stop and food court.

shellyfive-He was a young kid at the check-in counter. Maybe it was just us that he screwed up checking in, but I don't think so, I overheard many people complaining about his lack of knowledge. Don't take my word for it though, maybe he's learned more and gotten better in a week? lol :confused3 :rotfl:

Have a great time both of you. We did. And say hi to the bartender at the poolside bar. I had one drink there, and the next time I walked by he said "sunken treasure right?" I was impressed that he remembered me. He's a great guy, his name is John.

Glad you enjoyed your stay at the French Quarter. I have also requested building five for my upcoming solo trip (see below). Never stopped for a beer at the poolside bar during any of my previous stays at POFQ, but might this time now that you have recommended John.

How do you request a building? How can I speed up check-in? We only have check-in night to do AK (luckily it's EMH).
Thanks!

I made my building request when I first made the reservation; and I repeat the request when checking in. Never had a problem with that.

I guess the speed of your check-in depends upon when you get there, and the CM doing the check-in. I usually get there at about noon, and most of the time my room is ready then. If not,and I wanted to go to a park right away, I would check my luggage with the bell hops and have it sent to my room when I returned for the night.

Enjoy.

Ok -- here's a dumb question. I understand that your room key is also your park ticket? We have a package that comes with a 7 day hopper. We want to add the no expiration option since we will have 3 days unused. Can I do this at the desk? Do they re-issue a different kind of ticket? Will our tickets have the finger identity thing? :confused3
Only 13 more days!
It's snowing like crazy in Denver :rotfl:

We're staying at the POFQ for the first time in May - an tips about the resort?

We stayed at POFQ 9/29 - 10/3 and loved it. I think it's our favorite resort and we've stayed at SSR, BW, CSR, ASMo, and ASMu. Love-love-loved it!!!!!

It's so nice and cozy there. Theming is awesome! New Orleans is our favorite city to visit (got engaged there!) and POFQ brought back such wonderful memories.

The Scat Cat lounge has live music several nights a week (Wed - Sun?)

Building 5 or 4 are good. Corner rooms give you windows on two walls.

I don't really have anything negative to say about the place. Every building is close to the busses and main building. Bus service was great, boat to DTD was great.

I felt like it was better to stay here than to stay at a value in a preferred location-- it's about the same amt of money. Especially when you factor in the fridge and coffee maker that comes with POFQ.

Check the resorts board for the FAQ. Lots of info and pics posted. I'd start from the last page and go backwards though.

We are going to be there the same time as you! I can't wait...I need to start packing though! TTFN and see you around the FQ Kat

Why Building Number 5? Also, was the dining plan worth the money? Any suggestions on the Dining Plan?

My DH and I are going to POFQ in December (only 33 days to go!) and I have only heard good things about this resort from friends who have gone. :thumbsup2

I don't know anything about the buildings, what is so special about building 5?
Thanks!
:surfweb:

can't wait for vacation!! How do you get one of those cute trackers?

We are going to be at the POFQ (Me, DH and DD14) for Thanksgiving. This will be our 1st stay. :teeth:

The Dining Plan is worth the money!! You probobly will never consume as much good food in a weeks time anywhere else. Last year my fiance and I saved over $600 dollars by having free dining. This year we paid out for it but trust me- its worth it. Its worth the hassle- and you save money (Food is so expensive at WDW!) Go with it!

Will be at POFQ Dec 4th. CAN'T WAIT!!!! :cool1: Read the first post, what in the world are love bugs? :confused3

My family will be staying at this resort in May '07. Can't Wait!! Please more tips!!

thanks,

Manny

Thanks for your report. My family loves POFQ! My DD7 princess: really likes the dragon slide.

Re: room request-I've always had great luck faxing in my request 4 days before arrival as mentioned on www.allearsnet.com (here's the link http://www.allearsnet.com/acc/cro1.htm ) All the fax numbers are listed there. I usually ask for a room close to the food court and the pool. Also, we like to be near a parking lot (if you want to be near a bus stop-ask for that)

Tips? Don't forget to get the beignets! :goodvibes We didn't stay there in Sept. (stayed at POP) but we made a special trip to have beignets for breakfast one morning. If you're on the DDP one order of 6 is considered a SC. Our family of 3 (DM :earsgirl: , DGM :earsgirl: , and DD) had 2 orders of 6 and it was a very delicious and satisfying breakfast. Also, best to eat them in the food court-while they are nice and fresh! :cloud9:

Another tip-take the boat to DD or POR for a relaxing, non-park day thing to do.

Have a great time!

I have adr for coral reef . Ive seen a few negitive threads. My son is 7 and I thought he love watchin the fish as we ate,but now I beginnin to wonder. any comments or suggestions would be appreciated. ty
