We had an excellent time and my DD was very surprised. She didn't believe that we were going to Disney World until we actually checked in at the resort. Even with people at the airport telling her to say hi to mickey, and the pilot saying we were in Orlando, and the palm trees, and the disney store in the airport when we landed :rotfl2:

Our plane landed about half an hour early, but our driver from FLTours was already there waiting for us. Wonderful man, very nice. Just can't remember his name. He got our bags and off we went. We got to ASMo around noon and our room wasn't ready so we left our bags and went to DTD, did some shopping, got DD a costume for the P7PP the next night. Around 3 I called and they told me our room was all clean and ready, so we headed back.

I got the Toy Story building as I requested. We were on the 3rd floor, room 945. Once we got into our room I was not so excited. The floor was wet, when I called the desk they said "the last people had a fridge, it must have leaked", so I had to throw towels on the floor. Then, went in the bathroom and there was a band aid stuck to the door and another stuck on the wall of the shower. Clean? Not so much.

I set about unpacking, decorating our door/windows (I think I have some pics, it was great, but didn't see any other rooms decorated.) Our garden grocer delivery was about an hour early so once we were settled we went to the pool for a while and then to dinner. Gotta tell you - when I bought our mug the lady said "This can be used at any resort" - I didn't think that was true but I just nodded. And I saw so many people using old mugs, mugs from other resorts, etc.

Instead of doing a lot of typing I'll list my pros and cons. I really didn't like the resort and doubt we'll stay again, but this trip was all about DD and she was thrilled, and that's all that matters. IMO, ASMu was so much better when we stayed there in January compared to ASMo.

As for other aspects of our stay, it was very hot and got more and more crowded as the week went on, of course the weekend at DHS was insane. Most of the CMs I had contact with were rude and hardly any of them even smiled at all, one even rolled his eyes as a customer was counting change out of her purse. I know it's a job and they are not going to be happy and cheerful every day, but most of the CMs I saw really seemed unhappy and miserable.

Pros:
- theming was great
- pool was nice
- our room was very quiet. we didn't hear anything at all

Cons:
- housekeeping was horrible
- no activities for guests at all, ASMo atleast had movies at the pool and music and games
- I didn't like the baby pool at all. The concrete barrier between the baby pool and sprinklers was terrifying to me. I just kept watching all these kids run back and forth on this wet painted concrete and was waiting for someone to crack their head. I went as far as to forbid my DD from walking on the "white stuff". She wasn't happy, but I was so afraid she was going to slip and fall
- CMs
- There was trash and cigarette butts all over the property. DD and I walked the grounds a few times and there were lots of cigarette butts thrown every where and trash lying around.
- Busses! There would be 3 in a row for one park, and others would wait as much as 45 minutes. We waited over half an hour that first day for the DTD bus. And until the 3rd day we never got a seat on the bus, always had to stand, and one night DD even started crying because she was tired and didn't want to have to stand, but no one was giving up a seat so I stood behind her so she could lean in to me on the way

Maybe I was expecting too much but to me the resort just seemed a little neglected.

But other than those things we had a very good time, it was a lot of fun just her and I. Went to the P&PP on the 4th and had an awesome time! We took a park day off and I took her to DTD to the BBB, was able to get a same day appointment. We ate dinner at the Crystal Palace before the P&PP. We got dream fast passes at AK on our first full day there. And, we got to ride in the front of the monorail. Thanks to the DIS I knew the secret and asked to ride upfront when we were coming from the Wonderland Tea Party at the GF. DD also went to the mousekeeter club one evening, and I have to say I was surprised at how small it was. She had a good time though. We are considering renting DVC points in January and trying to stay at AKL and she wants to go to Simba's clubhouse.

My camera died about the 4th day, it died just as DD got to the front of the line to meet the pink power ranger  .I packed the adapter to charge it but not the usb cord, and of course there wasn't one to be found. I asked at the front desk and they looked at me like I was asking for the Hope diamond. So, I bought 2 disposable cameras and took a lot of pictures on my iphone.

Yesterday we had until 4pm until we had to leave so we hit Epcot and World Showcase. It was almost deserted! As we were walking toward Germany all of the sudden Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Marie from Aristocats, Baloo, one of the Country Bears and the cat from I can't remember what all just came walking out and stopped waiting to meet people. DD got to just walk up to all of them and get her picture taken with them. Getting to meet Mickey right before leaving for home was awesome for her, since she hadn't gotten to meet him the entire trip.

A huge thunderstorm hit Orlando as we were headed to the airport yesterday afternoon and our flight was delayed 4 hrs. They finally switched our flight and we left at 8:30, they told us there were transfering our luggage from the old flight to the new flight, but didn't, so our luggage didn't arrive home until hours after we did. We finally got home at midnight last night and went to get our bags today.

Of course, in true DIS style, I have begun the planning process for our January trip. I really want to stay at AKL but we can only afford it if I can rent some points, so we'll see. DH wants to stay at CB but I'm telling him this is my graduation present, I graduate college next May after 20 years :woohoo: and I in no way, shape or form want to do to WDW again in June, so I'm saying our January trip will be my graduation trip - wonder how that will fly :lmao:

So anyway, we're home and had a good time, and if anyone has any questions feel free to ask.

I am sorry you had such bad luck at the Movies. We are checking in on Friday for one night, I hope we have better luck. I chose this hotel over Music because of the Toy Story rooms, I just hope our room is clean. We get into orlando at about 830 AM, hopefully we can get our room before 3!

Just wanted to comment on your daughters pictures with Mickey! She is so adorable and the pictures are fantastic!!
I'm sorry you were not happy at your resort, but I hope your future trips will be better!!!
Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts and pictures.
