Afternoon Everyone

Just back from a 7 nighter on the Magic 11/29-12/6

I will get a full trip report done in the next few days.

Just wanted to share some observations of the ship:

This was my 9th Disney Cruise overall and 5th time on the Magic.
Contrary to what I have been reading on here the Magic was in tip top shape. We had room 6642, a navigator veranda and the room looked great, no wear and tear aside from what you would expect from a 10 year old ship.
The new flat screen tvs are great as is the expanded channel lineup.
The work from dry dock is actually not done yet as there was a company onboard working on the teak staircases from Deck 9-10 and as well as some of the pool decking.
The new tile around the Quiet Cove was nice, as were the waterfalls out of the hot tubs and the new teak deck chairs like the Wonder has.

Absolutely perfect weather excpet for Grand Cayman, it was too windy to dock so we ended up with a day at sea. We got to Cozumel and because the crew had gotten such a good review the Capt had us in Cozumel till 1am so the crew could party. Did the Tulum Ruins tour which was a highlight, aside from the nauseating ferry ride from Cozumel to the mainland.

Had dining rotation LAPAPLA 8:15 seating. Food was good as always. We tried the sit down at Topsider option one night for dinner and it was great. Food and service was top notch. Will definitely do it again.

Got to see some new entertainment, Jason Bishop a Magician was superb as were the 2 bands onboard, Soul Drive and Calypso Magic which was duo that mixed guitar and steel drums. Reminded me of the old steel drum bands the Magic used to have.

Castaway Day was great 78 degrees outside with 77 degree water, chilly at first but felt good later on in the day.
I think I can honestly say in my 9 cruises the seas were the calmest they have ever been, never felt the ship move, it was heaven.

Check back for a full trip report and check out my blog, address is in my signature for photos in the next day or 2.:thumbsup2

Any questions please feel free to ask.

Have a great day

Looking forward to hearing all the details! So glad you had such a positive experience!:thumbsup2

Sounds like you had a wonderful trip!

We were on this cruise last year but it was the Eastern...looking forward to reading your trip report:thumbsup2

We just returned from this cruise too! Sad to be back to reality. Overall it was a great cruise. The entertainment was great.... Jason Bishop was awesome, John Charles is still the best, and Calypso Magic was our WOW factor. We loved them and soon became their groupies!

One of the best things we did was the Mexican Cooking excursion in Cozumel. FANTASTIC!!!! (the tequila shots were good too)

Also loved getting cheese and crackers each night in Sessions with a cocktail.

Wish the weather was a little warmer and wish we did Grand Cayman but had fun anyway!!

Sounds like a great cruise! Thanks for sharing your experience.

I have a question about staying late in Cozumel. How does Disney let everyone know that you will be docked until late? What time did passengers have to be back on the ship? Which night was pirate night?

They had announced the later stay in Cozumel If I remember right around Sunday or Monday. They told us in the Theatre beofre the show one night and Christian, the cruise director also told us over the PA.
All aboard in Cozumel was 1am.

Pirate Night was Tuesday night.

To make it easier and so I don't have to double post to here and my blog, I will do my trip report on my blog since I also have my pics on there, I have Day 1 up and stateroom photos up so far. Will finish up all the days in the next few days so please go visit my blog at the address in my signature below and read along and view my pics. And please let me know what you thing of the blog and all.

Have a great day everyone

I love your blog. Thanks you so much for all the pictures. I love that I can click on them and make them really large. I can see all the details. I can't wait to see the model of the ship in the terminal. I want to take a hundred pictures of the cut away side so i can savor them in the future.

Hey Pumba guess who?? I concur with this trip. It was an awesome time. Cozumel was by far the best port we’ve been to yet. I wish we got off the ship in 2006 when we visited, but who knew. The cooking, drinking, Jet Skis, Water Trampoline and pool were great. Now if I can fix the picture of the “beached whale” on the trampoline…….

Sessions….mmmmmmmmmmmmm cheese, Ivory Key, Ginger Sling and I think I had a Pomegranate Cosmo thingy….YUMMY. :goodvibes

Shot out to our Server in Palo’s…Emmanuel (Right on!). We also saw our old Asst Server from 2006 Rafael who now is a Server. Fitz was great too. Jungle Boogie…Cannot forget his laugh! :lmao:

Since our friends Calypso Magic read this site….(I saw a post on their blog)…. How are you guys doing???? I thought they were a great addition to the entertainment on board. Nothing like steel drums in the Caribbean!!!

I stayed in 6087 which was the same room we stayed in 2006. The bathroom tub was really the only thing that was showing its age. Oh yes the AC still doesn’t work well. I think this a cruise industry issue as another cruise line I was on had the same problem. Glad I brought a fan. I can’t wait to start planning the next cruise. I would like to wait for the new ships, but don’t know if I can wait that long.

And the week of 6 through 12 was just as nutty. We met a couple who just realized they were parrotheads. We made it a band personal challenge to do a different Buffett tune for them every night. They went to pub night tonight and missed us in the lounge, but they stopped us in the hall and thanked us for a good time. I'm kinda getting used to being part of this magical magimagimagigigitty out here.
Loved playing for you guys and hope it's not too cold at home.

I am glad you guys are lovin' it! I have been living off your blog site for the past week. I am so bummed that we are not on vacation that I have to get the scoop from you. When you don’t post for a couple of days I keep hitting the refresh button as if the faster I hit it the faster you will type. (Like when they test animals to press a button to give them drugs). :lmao: Any how, keep doin what your doin. As you can see Calypso Magic is a hit!! Keep blogging too, as I'm sure you will start to see more and more fans checking you guys out. What's with the crazy Arabic language on your guestbook? Probably spam. Keep in touch!!!

Did you guys take the picture on the Sun deck?? Awesome shot!

I hate getting sick...hehe

I meant to have my trip report done on my blog by now but I went back to work 1 day and was out sick the next 5 days.

I have Cozumel posted so I only need sea day and Castaway and I will have it done, hopefully by the end of the weekend....:thumbsup2

For now enjoy my pics and blog, address is in my signature.

Have a great rest of your week everyone

enjoyed your report. DH really wanted to see the ruins when we were in Cozumel a few weeks ago, but I had read somewhere about how bad the seas were on that ride over to the mainland. As it was, DH had trouble the first night of our cruise, which was kind of bumpy. He would have been one of the ones carrying around the barf bag.... maybe me too, not sure - although the ship never bothered me....

Also, your photos are beautiful. Thanks again for sharing.

I think I remember you guys. In your blog you were in the hot tub during the fireworks. We were the 4 others at the bar besides the cast members. I believe we were the only ones around there during the fireworks. Nice and quiet. Got to see the fireworks without all the people around and listen to Calypso Magic. 1st time we were not part of the party. It was nice.

WooHoo....I finally finished my Trip Report with pictures of Castaway Cay and Snorkelling on Castaway.

Check out my blog for all the pics and more. I will continue to update once a week with more pictures from this vacation and the other 8 I have been on and thanks again to all of you who have sent me nice emails and comments about my blog. Like everyone on here I LOVE DCL and just being able to share my pics and my love of the magic and wonder with everyone out there.:thumbsup2

Thanks for posting all the pics. It was nice to see what the holiday decorations looked like on CC as we were there in early November and they were not up yet.

Happy Holidays.
