I was wondering the same thing.

While I can't speak to comfort of the beds, they definitely would have to relocate the chairs and coffee table from the sitting area in order to open the sofa bed, which I think might render the dining room unusable and/or treacherous to navigate in the morning. For that reason alone, the Murphy bed might be a better option (unless you really need to use the desk for some reason).

Please note that I'm totally speculating. My advice is to ask your Room Host and/or Concierge Host their recommendation. They've heard all the positives and negatives from other guests and will help you sort out what will work best for your family.

That's one of the perks of cruising Concierge...individualization. Take advantage of it!

The Murphy bed seems like it would be a lot easier. No need to move any furniture; they just pop that sucker open and it's ready. And if your daughter wakes up before you in the morning, she can move over to the couch and watch TV.

I think we will actually still be in the pack and play stage (hopefully). He will be just shy of 3 when we cruise. One of the reasons to upgrade is he really lkkes to spend time in our 'home' wherever that it is. We always have a lot of in room time with him.

Lots of room for the pack n play where the Murphy bed would go.

On our first cruise when we had Mickey bars delivered I would just wait outside the room for them. On the last cruise, I just went to the dining room during dessert time and asked if a waiter could bring me a couple in the packages.

My son is pretty short. So far he is fine in them, and he has slept in them a lot... I prefer that he be trapped AS LONG AS POSSIBLE! Good idea on the bed rails though.

You're welcome. Just let your Room Host or one of the Concierge Hosts know if you want the sofa bed or the Murphy bed made up for your son. We've never used them, so I can't advise you if one is more comfortable than the other. Maybe others can chime in on that.

I have slept on both and thought the Murphy bed was more comfortable.

okay- so I pulled the trigger and upgrade to the 1 bedroom for my May 2016 cruise- so, I have a question on the cabin category. Pretty much everything is available right now. I am currently booked in 11020- wanted a quiet room as far from the front of the ship as possible with cabins above me. But 11002 is open. Both me and my toddler tend to suffer from a little motion sickness, but I like the idea of the cabin on the bump. WHAT TO DO! Will it be that different in the space between the 2 rooms. I take Dramamine (less drowsy) and we use oils for my son. We are usually mid-ship to aft people. Help me decide.

Artnerds- did you say there wasn't a priority walk off for debarkation? so you did wait in line?

The difference in motion between 020 and 002 is going to be negligible. Go for 11002. You will love it. Not only will you have the bigger verandah, you will have no noise from people walking past your door, as you are at the end of the corridor.

This last cruise, we did do the priority debarkation. The Concierge Hosts took us down and let us off the ship at the head of the line. The last time we had cruised on the Fantasy, 2 years ago, we didn't have it, either because it wasn't being done or we just didn't know about it. We stood in line, but it wasn't very long since we didn't have breakfast and left the ship pretty early.

One of the Hosts told us that even if we didn't walk down with them, we could still go to the ropes next to the Guest Services desk and show our concierge KTTW cards, and someone would let us through ahead of the line. I think we would have felt weird doing that, so we did get escorted by one of the Concierge Hosts.

I'll put in a big vote for 12006 or 12506, if either is available. Big bump-out balconies, and near the end of the corridor, so more privacy.

It's not fully enclosed. It's actually quite nice if it's raining and you want to be on the verandah.

I am on the 4/25/15 sailing...same itinerary. I have been debating an upgrade to concierge...it is in the thousands to do so from a cat 4a. Was wondering if I could upgrade at the port???

Possibly. There are currently 6 Cat V and 5 Cat T available so you might have a chance if you get to the port early enough.
