Just back from 5 days at DL. We had a great time and could not have asked for better weather or crowd level. Was cloudy every morning until about noon then cleared off to sunshine. Wait time for rides was 10-20 minutes. The only thing that we were upset with was our room. We stayed at DL hotel, where we have stayed many times before. The room was not ready when we got there but did not mind we were going to the park anyway. We had asked for a room with 2 beds and a day bed. At check in were told that a room with a roll away may come up sooner so we figured which ever was ready first we would take. When we got into our room for bed the roll away was not there and after calling down 2 times and waiting to go to bed we finally got it. We let them know the bathroom smelled and not until the end of our stay did we figure out the sink smelled so bad we put the plug in and filled with a bit of water to keep from smelling all night. There was hair behind the toilet door too. I love this hotel and have always had wonderful service so I hope that we just had one bad stay and our next stay will be better. We leave for WDW in September and am really excited about our upcoming trip.

Sorry to hear about your bad experience at the DLH hopefully next time will be better.

Did you hit any character meals, or have any wild or favorite moments in the park?

I went with my MIL, SIL, and 7 year old niece. We did the princess lunch at Ariel's Grotto. It was one of the best character meals I have ever done. I have 2 boys so have never got to do the "girl thing." My neice wanted to see Cinderella and her trip to WDW last December never got to see her. When we made the reservations for the character lunch were told there was no guarantee which princess' would be there. There were 5 and the last one was Cinderella. It was great! We had such a great time in the parks with very little crowds and short ride lines. I have decided that May is a good time to go.

The one time I stayed at the DLH, I had a similar experience with getting the type of room I wanted. I was there with my son, who was 13 at the time. I had asked for two queens. When we went to check in (mid-afternoon), the CM started to give me a room key to a room with two queens, then went, "Oh, wait a minute" and went back to the back room. Then she came back and processed me again, and handed me a key. When we got to the room, it had ONE king bed, and it was a handicapped room, so everything was down low. There was no coffeepot, no guest services notebook (so we didn't have any idea what hours things were open, or any map to the hotel grounds, etc.), and no fridge.

I called down to the front desk and told them we needed two beds, and could they please switch us. She told me that it was their policy to give only ONE bed to parties of two. I said, "But, this is my teenage SON! He doesn't want to sleep with his mom." They said they were sorry, but there were no rooms available with 2 queens. They did send up a coffeepot and fridge eventually, but we never did get any kind of booklet. I felt cheated, because this was a "splurge" stay.

I've never had that experience at a Disney hotel since, so I think it was a one-time thing.

I'm glad you had a good time anyway!:goodvibes

WE have never had a bad experience at DLH. Both times we had two queens and the last time I asked for a room with 2 queens and a day bed (there were only 2 of us, but I wanted the extra room, no problem, of course it was January and they weren't that busy.

Glad the rest of your trip went well.

glad the parks were great! you mentioned about the cloudiness turning to sun by the afternoon - but what were the temps like? comfortable? warm?

:goodvibes Thats so wonderful she got to see Cinderella. Theres nothing better then being able to see a childs face light up when they see something so exciting such as that.

The clouds burned off every day between noon and 1:00 PM and then it was in the upper 70's, on a couple days low 80's. There was always a breeze so it was never overwhelming hot. The evenings did get pretty chilly, I did not bring a warm enough jacket and bought a sweat shirt. Perfect park weather.

There's a big green monster on my back, looking over my shoulder reading this.:rolleyes1
