Just back from 3 weeks at the World. The crowds were small, lines were short and the weather was perfect.

THE GOOD......BWV, studio #5059 from 8/11-8/16, requested Boardwalk view. Fantastic view of ESPN, Spaceship earth and the Boardwalk center. The room was in great shape, ready by 3:00 and worth waiting for. We were on the fifth floor just a few doors down from the elevators. The staff was friendly, check in was quick, and the location is amazing. The only negatives were we could walk to the parks faster than the boat service (not really a negative I guess) and the MK bus was always jammed.

THE BAD......BCV, studio #176 from 7/28-8/2, requested Epcot view...got a view of mucky canal water. CM at check in was rude, poor housekeeping services, ignored by Front Desk. The room had several broken items when we brought them to the attention of housekeeping/front desk our issues were ignored. We called MS to try and change our 2nd week since we were scheduled to be at BCV again and their response was "oh, they're still having problems over there", guess we weren't the only ones. Second week MS said we should be more pleased and we got our Epcot view, room was in better shape. The first week left a bad taste in our mouths concernoing BCV though. It seems as though the CM's and services were over taxed.

THE WONDERFUL...AKL, room #3354 from 8/9-8/11. WOW this place is amzing. We got a great rate, $275 for 2 nights. We got a complimentary upgrade to savannah view, this was incredible. We'll definitly stay there again. The CM's were pleasant, knowlegable, and always willing to help. The Resort itself is amazing. I didn't want to leave it to go to the parks.

Overall we had a truly great trip. We go every summer and we hadn't seen the lines so short in years.

Thanks for the detailed report - glad you had a great trip overall.

Sorry to hear your first week at BCV was not as expected. I am hoping that all of the issues will be resolved quickly. I won't be going home for the first time at BCV until June! Glad that you reported your problems and that your second week there was better.

I had room 5063 at BWV when we went in September! Must have been a couple doors down from where you were. You're right, it is a really nice location.

Thanks for your report. Hope they get any remaining problems at BCV ironed out more quickly and more cheerfully.

Do you remember your Epcot view room number? Just wondering since we are requesting an epcot view, I would like to have an idea on the range of room numbers. Also how was your balcony, small? thanks

We really enjoyed our AKL visit too. I hope to do it again sometime.

Sitting in stunned amazement here, unable to respond. I can't get past the title of your thread....3 weeks at WDW!! Wow!

Great report and I'd comment more, but my mind wants to go into daydreaming mode of what 3 weeks in a row at WDW would be like in DVC accommodations!

Thanks for the nice report. Just curious whether you had to pay the room change fee when you moved at BCV?

We were also there on the 28th and 29th. Can't remember the studio number but it also faced the canel/back sidewalk (4th floor). I didn't really mind since I had not requested anything. We had excellent service from everyone. We had to call housekeeping once and they responded right away. I guess it's just luck of the draw.

On a side note we moved over to WLV (our home resort). This was our first time here. We loved it. We tried to compare the two but just couldn't as there two completly different atmospheres. My husband like WLV better though so we'll probabley stay there in the future.

I can't believe the lines were so short. I thought some would be squeezing in a last minute trip before school. I go home in 4 weeks. It will probably be a ghost town by that time?

Granny, I'm with you! I'd at least try to think of something intelligent to say, but I'm too busy wiping up the drool as I think about 3 whole weeks at WDW. Maybe someday I can experience that too... :jester:

Mickey7861, thanks for the great trip report. I'm glad that you had a wonderful trip overall, in spite of the unfortunate experience at BCV. Hopefully they will get things ironed out there real soon. At least by Feb. when I go there for the first time!! ;)

Thanks for the great report. I am also sorry about the BCV problems. I am just wondering if the BC staff that now also has BCV are not use to having guest call right away about a problem in the room where the ones they are use to don't.

jcanary.....

Our Epcot view room was #469 (DVC laundry is on the 4th floor too so that was convenient). The balcony held 2 plastic chairs and a small table, the 4 of us could easily stand out there and see Illuminations fireworks. Our balcony at the Boardwalk was bigger but our VWL balcony from last year was about the same size. The drawback to this room is there is a very busy roadway right below you. Road noise wasn't bad up on the 4th floor but I wouldn't want a first floor room in this area. The hallways are a hike but the view from this room was worth it.

PamOKW......

We had two seperate ressies since we visited FL relatives on the weekend so there was no actual room switch involved, just a new ressie. MS was really nice in trying to find us other accommodations but we could only get 3 out of the 5 nights needed at OKW. Luckily the second room at BCV was in much better condition.
