Just back from 2/3 Wonder and have many questions!

We sailed on the 2/3 Wonder (our very first cruise) then spent 7 nights at WDW. We had a great time.
The cruise experience exceeded my expectations. I was thinking I'd get bored, feel confined, get terribly seasick... but aside from some dizziness on the first night (12-14ft seas during Triton's LOL) the trip was great. My kids (1.5, 4, 6) all enjoyed the kids' clubs (nursery) and we loved the spa and Palo.

Anyway, we want to try a 7-night next time. I am thinking about a Fall 2006 trip but that's not set in stone. I think we'd like the Western itinerary best but again, I'm open on this... are there better excursions for active/non-tourist-spot types? (We didn't get off the ship in Nassau and didn't regret it for a second).

Also, has anyone enjoyed the 3-night then booked a 7-night and found it too long? LOL

Any suggestions about trying a "special" itinerary? Where is Costa Maya anyway?

We stayed in the midship Cat 3 and LOVED it so much, we hope to do that again. How quickly do those staterooms book?

No such thing as a too long cruise! Enjoy your 7 day. We just did the 10 day and wish we could do one of the 14 days.

Can not wait to get back in 6-06. If I could swing another one somewhere before that be it a 3, 4, 7, 10, 14 I would be there as many times as I could!!!

I've done three 3 night Disney cruises and three 7 night cruises (2 Disney, 1 RCCL.) I prefer the 7 night, but I just sailed the Wonder on Feb 10 and had a BLAST! It was certainly my best 3 day experience, by far!

Anyway, book the 7 night...give it a try. It offers more time to relax...something definately missing in my 3 day experiences.

By the way, we're booked in 8532 for our March, 2006 sailing. I'm always glad to hear good things about the cabin!

We did our first cruise back in Jan., and it was 3-nights. We had thought that we would have re-booked a 7-night while on board but decided against it for now. We are in the process of planning a 4-night for sometime next year, and if that goes well then we'll try the 7-night. I know a lot of people recommend the 7-day, but I'm just a little afraid of being away from home for that long...if it wasn't for that we'd be booking the 7 for next year!

We want to plan a 3 day Cruise 1st then a 6 night stay at WDW resort for November 2006. Family of 4, 2 DD's ages then will be 5 & 8.
Is it possible to book something like that now?
What is the absolute best way to go about this?
Are the rates any good right now ?
Do you book it separate cruise then WDW or as a package?
I do not care for the 7 Day Land & Sea Pkg.....don't like the Itinerary.
PLEASE PLEASE any suggestion on how to get this started..

Sounds like a great plan for a WONDERFUL family vacation. Book now! DCL prices only go up...you can always cancel later, but you want to lock in at the lowest possible price.

No such thing as a too long cruise! Enjoy your 7 day. We just did the 10 day and wish we could do one of the 14 days.

There are cabins available for both sailings, come on and join the Ship of Fools in August, you won't be sorry!

tinknsnow: The 3 day in October of 2001 got us hooked on cruising--we've done 2 more 3 night cruises on DCL; a 7 night on DCL (Eastern); a 5 night hurricane shortened cruise on (DCL) and we are booked on a 10 night Hawaiian cruise this summer. I don't find them boring at all.

Costa Maya is an area on the mainland of Mexico south of Cozumel. We stopped there on our shortened western cruise, since Grand Cayman had been flattened by a hurricane several weeks before. I liked Costa Maya, there is a developed area at the port--shops, a salt water pool. We did a Mayan excursion thru DCL that took us about an hour by bus to ruins--very nice, educational, and we got to see the countryside--very undeveloped and jungle-like (so undeveloped that I can't give blood until October of 2005--malaria-scare). Other people went to the beach area of Majuhal (sp).
