We're just back tonight from the 1/12 Wonder. Great cruise! Will post a trip report soon but would be happy to answer any questions anyone may have.

Hi,
Hope you had a great trip. We are going on our first Disney cruise in March. I have quite a few questions:

Did they do the CHA CHA Slide at the sail-away party? What other dances do they do?

Did you have any children do the "Pirate Fun" or "Escape from Hook" What was it like?

How early can you leave the ship at Castaway Cay?

Did you see the Island Magic Show? Was it worth seeing?

Also, what other shows are there besides Hercules, and Disney Dreams? Did you go and were they good?

What are Mr. Toads Wild Races Poolside?

How soon do you need to get to the Theater to get a good seat for the shows?

I guess you can tell, I'm an obsessive planner. Sorry so many questions. But I would apprecite any advice or tips you can give this first timer.

Thanks!

I saw this with my DGrD. who was 10 at the time. I thought it was cute, but really geared for kids, she thought it was "okay" - we both were a little restless towards the end. The family sitting next to us had a 4 yo. and a 6 yo. - they loved it.

Yes they DID Do the Cha Cha Slide at the sailaway party when we sailed on the Wonder Dec 29th. It was so fun watching kids and adults do it together. The Walt Disney Theater is big! 974 seats. We never had any trouble getting a seat. We did sit towards the back though (per DH wanting to) but I think if you get there about 20 minutes early you would not have a hard time getting a good seat. We loved Disney Dreams and we liked Hercules. We also went to see Who Wants to Be a Millionare and enjoyed that. But I suppose that is something that depends on if you're interested or not. I can't remember the exact time for disembarking at CC but if you check the disneycruise.com site they do have that information.

Mollie Jo - some of your questions were answered, I see. We didn't have kids with us so can't speak to kids' activities. Disembarkation for Castaway Cay was between 8:30 and 9 - if you're off the ship promptly, you won't have a problem getting a good beach spot. Didn't see Island Magic - it was in the afternoon and we were doing other things. As someone else noted, it is geared to younger children. They still do Hercules and Disney Dreams, and they are worth seeing. The other two shows on the 4-day are Who Wants to be a Mouseketeer and a comedy show. We went to the early shows because we had late seating dinner and had no trouble getting good seats fifteen minutes before the show. But our dinner seating wasn't anywhere near full. I heard early seating was full, so I expect the theater was more crowded for the later shows.

Thanks guys!
Maybe, I'll be able to answer some questions after we get back.
This board has been so helpful!
