My family and I spent one day in Magic Kingdom last week prior to leaving for a Disney Cruise- mainly to see the new Fantasyland. We stayed onsite, and made use of the Magic Bands as well as FP+.
We unanimously agreed we liked the Magic Bands. They were very convenient for park entry, dining, and as the FP "ticket". Our biggest complaint was with the FP+ system and its function with the smartphone app.
We had a 3:30 FP for Enchanted Tales with Belle (as our third FP). At 2:00, we decided the wait time for that was short and we wouldn't need the FP, so I went to the app to pick another ride. When I selected Peter Pan, it gave me a 7:30 time. We knew we were going to park hop to EPCOT, and did not want to be trapped waiting for that time frame to pass before we could get another FP. When I tried to cancel the FP, the app was "experiencing technical difficulties". When you go to change to a different ride, it gives you the same time slot!! I ended up having to go to a kiosk to choose a "throw away" FP for an earlier time so that we could get additional fastpasses sooner. As an aside, the Cast member who assisted me was very "snarky" when I explained my situation, and what I wanted to do. The only reason she even knew what FP were available sooner was because she had been helping guests choose theirs and had seen the available times for the rides.
The biggest issue with the entire system is not being able to see what time the available fastpasses are for the ride you want, like with the old system. It also doesn't let you see if the time slot you received is acceptable before kicking out your other FP when you want to change.
I would also agree with other comments that the wait times for "regular" rides are now much longer due to the FP+ system. They would almost do better to going back to not having FP at all, than to keep what they have now in my opinion. While we are Disney fans, we agreed that we were taking a break from Disney World for a while until they can fix the mess they've made.
