We spent three nights at BC concierge. We had nice weather and the crowds were very small. ANy questions????????????/

Just wondering what type of room you had? Was it water view and if so what was it like? Were the Cm's helpful and friendly? Did you like the resort and would you stay there again? How was the lounge and what type of offerings were there? Sorry I have so many questions. We are staying there for the first time in October and I'm curious. Hope you had a wonderful stay. We are very excited to try something new. How was SAB?Oh brother-too many questions-sorry:D

I was wondering also what type offerings they had and if you enjoyed your stay enough to go back? Also, did you get a lot of planning help from conc. staff? Would love a more in depth review!

Yes, please tell.
We will be there in 25 days. Yippee!!!:bounce: :hyper:

Ok so here goes.
We had a garden view room which ended up being a view of the roof and if I stood at the end of the balcony I could see part of the pool through some trees.

The cm's were all VERY sweet (especially phyllis and Eric). Except one! The person who checked us in. I dont want to dwell on the negative so that is all I will say. I will also say that Joe the manager was very nice also.:)

As far as food offerings we had every moring the typical donuts, croissants, bagels, cereal and fruit. Juices, coffee, tea. sodas by request.

durring the day they had out snack foods like popcorn, chips cookies.

evening every night they had cheese, veggies, hummus, pbj, mac and cheese, then every night would have a feature item.
first night we had lobster and shrip croquets. and chicken strips.
second night we had grilled salmon
third night grilled pork
also there was three of 4 wines. and beer by request.

late night was cordials and desserts cupcakes, cookies, brownies.
YUM!! :)

The pool was WONDERFUL as allways!!!!! :) We spent most of our time there!!

Iany other questions I would be happy to answer.
third night we had

We're staying at BC in Dec. and were curious about the balconies. From pictures it looks like at the very least you have a dormer balcony on the 5th floor. Were there any rooms without balconies or those tiny standing room balconies?

Glad you had a good time! We can't wait!

Thanks for your replies. How was the transportation to the parks? Did you have any problems with that? I'm glad you had a nice stay. Sorry about one of the CM's. It seems you can find those everywhere. Hope it wasn't too terrible. Do you have any children? If you do did they enjoy it there?

Hi,

Could anyone give me some info on the Poly Concierge? Will be at poly (again) with a garden view - am consideriing upgrading to concierge, but not sure it it would be worth the extra cost.
Thanks much!!

Yes I have a daughter and she loves SAB!!

Transportation was better then in the past there is only one bus for Yacht and Beach club and it doesnt go to any other resort.
But I really do think there should be a bus to Mgm the boat is sooooooooo slow and can be really hot.

BaciBecky Hi you can get alot of info on the poly at Tikimans site
http://tikiman2001.homestead.com/

Thanks, tnkrbell ~

Don't how I could have forgotten about that site, it's a great place for Poly info.

In the meantime I called and when it comes down to it , for me, there is nothing worth the extra $190 per bight.

Turn down service: can be requested (and this used to be for everyone back in the early days of the Poly, including the choc on the pillow.)

Iron and board: can be requested (and in your room in 10 mins;)

Views: just as good as available with concierge :)

Robe: can be requested :)

Private check-in: this is great, but not worth $190 extra a night (even with a code!)

Pre-planning: I've been 35 times and enjoy the planning etc :)

Snack: well, again not worth the $190 extra.

Daily paper: this was also formerly standard for Disney deluxe resorts.

on top of all this, Hawaii is the conciege longhouse and newer longhouses have larger rooms.

Am I missing something? I mean, maybe I don't get it? Maybe because I've not experienced it I do not understand?

Thanks!!! ;) ;) :)

Hi tnkrbell,

Welcome back! I remember your pre-trip quandry concerning perhaps doing one night concierge and three regular, etc.

Did you get upgraded or choose to do concierge in advance?

:bounce:

WDW LifeLong Fan Hi!! :) We ended up deciding in advance to do all the vacation in Concierge. :)

BaciBecky :) Well its not for everyone but we enjoyed it. We actually never went to dinner we ate in the lounge and we were full. :) So it saved us money that way for breakfest, dinner, and drinks. (alcohol and regular) we did eat out for lunch.

Smart move! I would have done the same and not risked the potential upgrade!

Time to start planning your next WDW adventure!;)

Tnkrbell, thank you! That's really good to know because I'd like to give it a try at least once :o)

Of course now I've read several posts about smoking in the concierge buidling and I wonder if it makes it a bit more likely to be near to a smoking room area. I know it's on a different floor, but it's just a thought....I'm always "thinking" about something when it comes to planning a Disney vacation!! It's both fun and stressful at times;)

We've always had a wonderful vacation, no matter the resort (it is more heavenly at the Poly ;) - even when we've had some mishaps:
Poly trip: more bugs than us in the room (they changed our room and had a surprise waiting for us when we returned - Fruit basket, chocolates and an apology card from Mickey.
POFQ trip, food poisoning one from Japan rest,
BR trip,a sick child the entire time, fever and all
Cont Tower, a child with a brand new fractured arm (no swimming allowed, but the cm's were great and helped us wrap his arm to protect the new cast)

..and so on...still, always a wonderful vacation with treasured and interesting, memories! Over 20+ years those are not many mishaps!

Welcome home!!!

BaciBecky
I wouldnt worry about the smoking thing, we never smelled any smoke on this visit and let me tell you I would smell it!!!! (big anti smoke person :)

Happy planning!!!! :sunny:

Tnkrbell (which is what I named my first puppy!:)

That is great to know about the smoking - I'm like you about smelling it and also have allergies so anywhere near me and I start sneezing like crazy.

This time (Monday, 9/27) we'll do a garden view (hopefully with a Tokelau or Tahiti room) but next time I figure in the cost for concierge and we'll give it a try...of course

I know I'll get hooked and then what'll I do???? ;)

Thanks again..and when do you return? Or did you just get back..cannot remember..

Next time concierge!

Thanks again!

We just got back on Sunday!!
:teeth:

We will probably go around x-mas. But I dont hink I will do concierge again it kinda dictated our trip. we felt we needed to be back for the offerings. (I know that is not what it is there for but that is what we did :))

I would feel the same about being back for the offerings - would hate to miss what's included, especially if it's good!

Any idea where you'd stay in Dec? Sounds like me when we first started going in 1981 - every few months we were back...oh, what I am talking about??? I was just there in Feb of this yr!

Looking forward to Monday!
Wait!! You just got back YESTERDAY??? Oh, you poor woman! You've not even had time to readjust....can you still smell the Poly???

no I stayed at the beach club.:)

Welll, then I guess it would a bit difficult to still smell the Poly!!!

Ahh, the BC is lovely! Don't recall any wonderful "smells" there!!

Silly me...

One of our best ever trips was at the BC :o)
