I do that all the time. Just in case, I didn't want for you to have your plan and go to fastpass Dumbo and see there isn't a machine. We all know what happens with Dumbo lines!
we are going back next year and DH wants to do Universal too. How did you get from Port Orleans to Universal..drive?? or other transportation? I already know we are staying at French Quarter..that's my part of the decision making.
Coolbeans - Several years back when we were at ASMovies we called MearsExpress (they request 24 hour notice) and for $10 pp they picked us up at our resort early in the am and brought us back around 6 that night. I believe there was a later return also. You can make arrangements at the customer service desk at your resort. We've never needed to rent a car at Disney.
Thanks Ricky's Girl!! That's what I was hoping, DH would hate to have to drive and park and walk, the busses spoil you going to and from the parks. Last time we went the car didn't move the whole time and this time we will have a stroller so it will be a little different.

We just got back from POR. The busses were great-no problems. There is the extra stop at POFQ on the way back. But it was a pretty quick one. We actually got off there a couple times to eat at their food court, as POR is still being refurbished, then took the boat to POR. It was fun.
I am confused. I have been using the fastpass for years but you can only get one fast pass at a time for the admission tickets you have?? You have to use the fastpass you have before you can go and print another with your admission ticket?? Has this changed??
In other words, I have a fastpass for 10:20-11:20 on Space. I cannot get another until 11:20. So has this changed??
Right, you do not HAVE to use any fastpasses you get. Getting a second (or 3rd) set of FPs depends on the timing. You can get another set of FPs when the window opens on your current FPs (sometimes sooner in special cases, which I cannot recall at all right now).
Last year, we got "extra FPs" for Mission Space when we obtained our Test Track FPs.
Use of "expired" FPs is very much an open secret. We learned about it from a CM at Kali River Rapids. He overheard us fretting a few years back about whether we should get FPs to ride Kali again, 'cause we had RFP ADRs and weren't sure whether we could make it back in time. He reassured us that the return times are rarely enforced, only the start times.
One more thing,
I wore crocs for the first time at Disney (have had them for a while) and it was the best my feet had ever been! We went 12-13 hours a day and my feet were GREAT, I wore socks. I will always wear crocs to Disney, I never even took my sneaks out of the platic bag!
I will second you on that one! Although me feet were tired at the end of the day - they were not sore or anything! Bought them 3 days before we went to disney! Love them!
All the "girls" have crocs now. Last year when I bought 2 pair all I heard was how ugly they werebut seeing how much I and others loved them ,they all decided to be Croc..ers
Is there any FP machines that are not on the system? In DL roger rabbit is not on the system so you can get a FP at say Indy and roger rabbit right after with no wait. Also in California adventure grizzly river is not on the system. Are there any like that in WDW?
Do you have to get a seperate fastpass for each member of your party or just one for the group? Cn anyone get fastpasses or just disney resort guests?
Sorry first timer!
Also, if it is so easy to avoid the long lines, why isn't everyone doing fast pass which would make the fatpass line longer?

Yes, each rider needs his or her own fastpass. Anyone can get fastpasses. They are free for everyone.
You got to the ride, put your park admission ticket into the fastpass machine adjacent to the ride entrance, and it spits out 1 FP per ticket. On the FP is a time window, say 10:00am-11:00am. You can return to the ride with your FP no earlier than 10:00am.
The number of fastpasses for each ride each day is limited. For some very popular rides (Expedition everest, Soarin, Space mtn) all the fastpasses for a day are gone by late morning in the busy periods. this prevents the FP line from being too long.
