Thanks for the good, bad, and the ugly. Tell me, when Soarin' opens, would you suggest, on early mornings going to Test Track first or Soarin' first?

Will Soarin' have a fastpass?? Is it included in EMH in the a.m.? p.m.?
We will be there 4/30 to 5/7. It will just be opening and I am afraid the wait will be long before it is new. Trying to figure out the best strategy to ride w/ minimal wait.

Thanks.

jellydisney - I have a questions..... becasue of poor planning on my part I schedule an 8:20 am PS at CRT on an early morning hours opening at MK - my question is - since the park will open at 8am for resort guests - I am guessing we will be done with breakfast around 9:30 - after the park opens for everyone else - do you think we will be okay or are the crowds going to be really bad by then? We will be at MK on Friday, April 15th - anyone else have a comment?

We were just at WDW 3/24-3/30 POR and we didn't have to wait more than 20 mins for any ride at any time...BUT my kids don't ride "big rides" (ie roller coster type or speed like TT) and while I love thrill rides, we live a few mins from a Six Flags so I'll just do it there. I love Disney more for the Pixie dust anyway. :wizard: Early EMH was wonderful at MK by 9:30 am we met Chip and Dale, Mickey, and Goofy, went on Peter Pan, IASW, Dumbo, saw Philharmagic, Tea Cups, and the Race Track ride (the cars that put put around a track), got a fast pass for Buzz and were eating breakfast. AK's early EMH seemed pretty useless to me since everyone runs to the Safari pretty much. We had no problems with anything at Epcot, no wait for anything and we went there on 4 different days. MGM during regular hours was no problem with crowds either, we walked into Indiana Jones no waiting, walked right on to Star Wars, got fast passes for the new show, Little Mermaid, and Millionaire. Then we went over to Fantasmic at 5:30 for the 7:30 show rested and got fabulous seats. I will say the day we had planned for MGM, it seemed like every park but MGM had EMH. Don't know if that had any effect. :confused3

Hello,

Just a quick question about the EMH. When the parks are open late, do you need to get a wristband or show your resort ID? How does this work?

Thanks!

We just returned also, from tueday, march 29 - friday, april 1.

We truly, and i mean truly, do not understand how or why there were so many long lines EARLY in the day, with FP still available!!!????
DS joked that maybe they didn't know how to read....??

Seriously, our longest wait was for Rockin Roller Coaster, the 3rd time we rode it (w/out FP) and that was just under 30 minutes.

Never used EE but did arrive 30 min early, go to our fave attraction (for example R & R Coaster) while DS got FP for our 2nd fave (ToT) rode R & R Coaster 2 times, then ToT with FP, then back to R & R Coaster for a 3rd time where we had our longest wait for anything in our FOUR DAYS in the parks. From there, to Great Movie Ride, got FP for Mermaid, and on and on and on through four GLORIOUS days!!! We saw and did everything we wanted, all in one day per park.

We also hopped to MK each night about 800ish, to catch Wishes and ride a few more rides. We never used EE or Extra Hours and still did it all.

I TRULY think the secret is to PLAN PLAN PLAN, use FP ALL DAY and relax and enjoy the ride!

I wanna go back NOW! :(

We attempted to do MK EMH which was going from 12-3am. We couldn't really make it though. Around 12:30am, we were exhausted and had to leave. The waits were still extremely long at that point though. Space was 60 min, Big Thunder was 45 min, etc. There were a LOT of people there considering how late it was--lots of kids too! If I could go back in time, I would have skipped the MK EMH and instead gone the next morning at 7am. I bet it would have been a ghost town.

Are you kidding me? I am assuming you are talking about the EMH on 3/23 - there was practically no one in the park! We rode over a dozen rides (some more than once) and we never waited more than 5min. You could tell it started to clear out around midnight, and by 1 at the latest it was dead.

The electric scooters are everywhere too. I don't like to pass judgement on the people in them, since I have no idea whether or not the person riding is capable of walking. But there are some seemingly able-bodied people who wouldn't get off them to stand in line at a beverage cart or go into a store. Some would "park" them in the middle of the walkways. Very inconsiderate. But inevitable when crowds are this high, I suppose.

There were people in front of us in line to see It's Tough to be a Bug who definitely did not need the scooter - the entire family took turns riding on it and photographing themselves on it. It was ridiculous.

We were there 3/25-4/1, rode everything, and never waited more than 10 or 15 minutes. We got to the parks at opening and used fastpass. MK at 7 am was fantastic-we rode over a dozen rides and saw a couple shows before 11am. One morning, about 10, my dd's decided they wanted to ride Thunder Mountain RR again, so we went for fastpasses. The stand-by line was 70 minutes, the fastpasses were for 40 minutes later! I find it hard to believe that all of those people in line were holding fastpasses for other rides. I just couldn't believe it. Even at the busiest times, if you plan, it works.

We also just returned after 3/28 - 4/1 visit. We ended up first in line at test track on Friday. Not sure if it was a fluke but we entered from the International Gateway when it opened at 9 am and walked quickly to Test Track and beat the horde of people being walked to TT by the CM brigade. I would try this again.

We usually arrived at the parks about 11:00 in the morning but did manage one 7:30 arrival at MK. Rode space mountain twice and buzz light year within 40 minutes. Going early is definately the most efficient but found the rest of time manageable with planning.

we were they 3/25 to 4/1 too and we never waited more than 10-15 mins (usually less) with 2 exceptions. 1 was TOT at night we waited 40 mins, the other was the safari at 430 pm we waited 40 mins then too. Otherwise we got there at opening and did the most popular attractions then. Between 8 am and noon on the saturday before easter we did the following:
Space
Buzz
Peter Pan
Its a small world
Pooh
Snow White
Philharmagic
Big Thunder
Splash
We tried to do pirates, but it was broken
Even at night we were able to 1 night (very busy night btw) get fastpasses for and ride Buzz (fastpass gotten at 4 pm for 6 pm) and Big thunder (FP gotten at 10 pm for 1040 pm) pirates, carousel of progress, the TTA and haunted mansion and we rode everything and watched wishes between 8 and 11 pm.

At mgm we rode tot and rnr each twice, saw the stunt show and did one man's dream and millionaire and ate lunch and were done by 12/1 pm

at ak we walked in at 11 am or so and did the safari, both trails, dinosaur and flights of wonder and ate at tusker house and were done by 4 pm

it was great, up early, take a break in the middle of the day and go back at night. this is our new mantra. we did one day with no break and hubby and i both had breakdowns at different points of the day. i have learned it is worth it to go back to the resort even if it just for an hour. it is totally worth it. but we were able to do all of our favorites at least twice or even three or four times.
